What the preview shows
The phone call is the preview’s emotional center: the indexed excerpt describes TK remaining at the station and Carlos working the call center as the asteroid crisis unfolds. It frames their conversation as a final exchange in the face of imminent danger, but the excerpt does not establish further dialogue or details of the clip. Yahoo’s indexed excerpt carries the Entertainment Weekly exclusive-preview headline.
How the call fits into the finale
The series finale aired February 3, 2025. TVLine’s same-day sneak-peek report places the action moments before the asteroid reaches Austin: Owen and members of the 126 shelter beneath their trucks at the station, while Carlos and Wyatt brace at the call center. TVLine’s preview situates the phone-call premise within that wider emergency.
Showrunner Rashad Raisani described the finale’s balance of spectacle and personal stakes to TV Insider: “as crazy as it is, it all ends up coming back to a place of character and how these people go through this crucible.” TV Insider’s January 17, 2025 interview captures that approach.

Where TK and Carlos’ story ends (spoilers)
TV Insider’s February 4, 2025 post-finale report says the story jumps ahead five months. Tommy is in remission, Judd is leading the 126, and Owen has moved to New York. TK and Carlos adopt Jonah, and TK leaves first-response work to become a stay-at-home dad. These are developments from the aired finale, beyond the preview’s phone-call moment. When the finale aired
TV Insider reported that the series returned January 20, 2025, with its finale scheduled for February 3; TVLine’s preview confirms that the finale was published and aired on that date. A February 4, 2025 TV Insider page listed the series as streaming on Hulu, but that dated listing does not establish current availability or availability outside the reported market.
