How this ranking works
The order below follows the first 30 positions in Rotten Tomatoes Editorial’s Bad Movies: The 100 Worst Movies of All Time, credited to Alex Vo and updated September 23, 2026. The guide’s stated eligibility rule is a Tomatometer score of 4% or less and at least 20 reviews. Its list can change, so positions and scores should be understood as the guide’s current editorial ordering, not a permanent ranking.
The Tomatometer is the percentage of professional critic reviews classified as positive; it is not an average grade. Rotten Tomatoes labels films with a score of 60% or higher Fresh and scores below 60% Rotten. What a very low Tomatometer score tells you
A percentage is a share of positive reviews, not a rating out of 100 and not a measure of how strongly critics disliked a film. Two films with the same score can have different review counts and different critical complaints. Rotten Tomatoes’ guide uses both a low-score cutoff and a minimum review count to define its eligible films; its exact percentage for each title and the reasons critics gave are separate details.
The guide is a critics’ list, not a ranking of audience dislike. Audience ratings are collected separately, and neither score represents every viewer. Treat the ordering as one editorial way to find critically panned movies, rather than proof that a film is objectively the worst or that it cannot be entertaining.
