Rotten Tomatoes’ 2025 guide puts Spy at the top of its Jason Statham movie ranking with a 94% Tomatometer score. But the list is a critics’ ranking of films featuring Statham—not a ranking of his most action-heavy or most central roles. For a Statham-led crime thriller, The Bank Job is the highest-ranked choice.
How this Rotten Tomatoes ranking works
The ranking follows Rotten Tomatoes’ guide, “Best Jason Statham Movies, Ranked by Tomatometer,” by Jeff Giles, updated May 1, 2025. The percentages are Tomatometer scores: critics’ ratings, not audience scores. The guide’s displayed order and scores may change if Rotten Tomatoes updates the page.
That distinction matters because several high-ranking films are ensembles, and Spy is led by Melissa McCarthy. A higher position means a stronger critics’ score in this guide; it does not necessarily mean Statham has the largest role or that every viewer will prefer the film.
The 12 best Jason Statham movies by Tomatometer
| Rank | Film | Tomatometer | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Spy (2015) | 94% | Spy comedy; Statham is part of an ensemble led by Melissa McCarthy. |
| 2 | Furious 7 (2015) | 81% | Large-scale Fast & Furious franchise action with Statham in the cast. |
| 3 | The Bank Job (2008) | 79% | British heist thriller; Statham plays Terry Leather. |
| 4 | Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) | 75% | Guy Ritchie crime comedy that helped establish Statham’s screen profile. |
| 5 | Snatch (2000) | 74% | Guy Ritchie crime caper; Statham plays Turkish. |
| 6 | The Italian Job (2003) | 72% | Ensemble heist film. |
| 7 | Fast & Furious 6 (2013) | 71% | Franchise action entry. |
| 8 | The Beekeeper (2024) | 71% | Revenge action thriller; the guide’s consensus describes it as an enjoyably retrograde Statham vehicle. |
| 9 | Wrath of Man (2021) | 68% | Guy Ritchie reunion built around a cash-truck security guard and a heist. |
| 10 | The Expendables 2 (2012) | 68% | Ensemble action sequel; Statham returns as Lee Christmas. |
| 11 | The Fate of the Furious (2017) | 67% | Another ensemble entry in the franchise. |

Scores and placements in the table are the values displayed in the Rotten Tomatoes guide updated May 1, 2025. They are a dated snapshot, not a guarantee of the guide’s current values.

Which Jason Statham movie should you watch?
For the highest critics’ score
Choose Spy if you want the guide’s top-ranked film and are open to an ensemble spy comedy rather than a conventional Statham-led action movie.
For Statham in a crime or heist story
The Bank Job is the strongest match near the top of the ranking: it places third and casts Statham as Terry Leather. For an earlier, more stylized crime-caper mode, try Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch, both Guy Ritchie films among the five highest-ranked titles.
Rank #2
For franchise action
The list includes three Fast & Furious films—Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6, and The Fate of the Furious—as well as The Expendables 2. Their ensemble format makes them better picks for franchise spectacle than for a story centered solely on Statham.
For a more direct Statham action vehicle
The Beekeeper offers revenge-thriller momentum, while Wrath of Man pairs Statham with Ritchie in a cash-truck heist story. Crank is the more unusual premise: its protagonist must keep moving to survive after being poisoned.
What the ranking tells you—and what it doesn’t
The list is useful for finding well-reviewed films across Statham’s career, from the late-1990s crime films to recent action thrillers. It is less useful as a pure ranking of his lead performances: several entries are ensemble pictures, and the highest-ranked title is a comedy led by another actor. Use the score to compare critics’ reception, then choose by genre, tone, role size, and era.
