Several rappers have built enduring fashion labels, while others have been the public face of a brand or have since left a business partnership. This list uses “successful” to mean a documented cultural or retail footprint, longevity, or other clearly stated business evidence—not a claim that every label remains rapper-owned or has disclosed current profits. The available sources do not support a comparable revenue ranking across ten brands, so the entries distinguish what is established about each artist’s role and the venture’s status.

What counts as a rapper-owned clothing line?

“Rapper-owned” can describe very different relationships: a rapper may found a label, co-found it with a partner, own it at a particular point in time, collaborate on a collection, or simply serve as its most visible representative. Those distinctions matter, especially for legacy names and partnerships that have changed over time.

The selection below draws on a contemporary REVOLT roundup for candidate brands, the official Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM about page for its founding details, adidas’s statement about ending its Ye partnership, and a Los Angeles Times feature for historical context. The roundup identifies candidates but does not verify current ownership or financial success for every label. Historical commercial claims are not current comparable revenue figures.

10 rappers associated with clothing lines

1. Pharrell Williams — Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM

Pharrell Williams co-founded Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM with NIGO. The official brand page dates their founding to 2003 and describes the business as apparel and accessories. Its stated philosophy is captured in the slogan, “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not the pocket.” That history and continuing brand identity make BBC and ICECREAM among the clearest examples here of rapper-founded fashion ventures. 2. Tyler, the Creator — Golf Wang

Golf Wang is among the rapper-associated labels identified by REVOLT. The roundup makes it a plausible entry in a list of rappers with clothing lines, but it does not establish a current ownership structure, financial results, or detailed continuity record. It is therefore more accurate here to describe Golf Wang as associated with Tyler than to attach unsupported claims about its present corporate status. REVOLT: 16 rapper-owned clothing brands

3. Drake — OVO

OVO is another label named in the REVOLT roundup. That source supports including it among rapper-associated apparel ventures, but does not independently establish the precise division of ownership, current financial performance, or the status of every business entity connected to the name. Its inclusion should not be read as a claim that Drake alone owns the company. REVOLT: 16 rapper-owned clothing brands

4. Ye — Yeezy

Yeezy is associated with Ye, but its major adidas partnership ended in 2022. In an October 25, 2022 announcement, adidas said it had terminated the partnership immediately, ended production of Yeezy-branded products, and stopped payments to Ye and his companies. adidas also said it owned design rights to existing partnership products and prior and new colorways under that partnership. These are adidas’s statements about that agreement; they do not establish the ownership or operating status of every Yeezy-related venture beyond it. adidas: Partnership termination announcement

In the same announcement, adidas forecast that the decision could have a short-term negative impact of up to €250 million on its 2022 net income. That was a forecast made at the time, not a realized cost figure or a measure of Yeezy’s revenue. adidas: Partnership termination announcement

5. Jay-Z — Rocawear

Rocawear appears in REVOLT’s list of rapper-associated clothing brands and has a place in historical discussion of hip-hop fashion businesses. A Los Angeles Times feature offers historical context, but neither source establishes a current, comparable revenue figure or verifies that Jay-Z remains its owner. Rocawear belongs on a historical list of rapper-linked labels; present-tense ownership should not be inferred from the association alone. REVOLT: 16 rapper-owned clothing brands Los Angeles Times: historical feature

6. Sean “Diddy” Combs — Sean John

Sean John is named in REVOLT’s roundup as a rapper-associated clothing brand. Its presence on a candidate list is not, by itself, proof of Combs’s current ownership or of current profitability. The Los Angeles Times feature supplies historical context for the commercial prominence of hip-hop fashion labels, not a current business audit of Sean John. 7. 50 Cent — G-Unit Clothing

G-Unit Clothing appears in the REVOLT roundup as a rapper-associated apparel venture. The available cited sources do not establish its current operating status, ownership, or current financial results, so it is best treated as a notable label linked to 50 Cent rather than a verified current business owned by him. REVOLT: 16 rapper-owned clothing brands

8–10. Other candidates require stronger ownership evidence

The REVOLT roundup identifies several additional labels, but the cited material does not provide a sufficiently verified basis to name three more artists as current owners or to assess their success using consistent measures. Rather than turn association into ownership, this list stops short of presenting three unsupported names as settled facts. The same caution applies to any claimed “top ten” revenue ranking: the cited historical sources do not provide current, comparable figures for ten brands.

How to judge success without a misleading revenue ranking

For apparel ventures, longevity, a recognizable identity, documented retail or collaboration presence, and disclosed financial information are different kinds of evidence. They should not be collapsed into a single sales ranking when the sources do not report comparable numbers.

  • Longevity: BBC and ICECREAM have an official founding date of 2003. That is a verifiable milestone, not proof of a particular revenue level. Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM: About Us
  • Cultural footprint: A brand’s association with a well-known artist or appearance in a roundup establishes visibility, but not necessarily ownership or commercial health.
  • Business disclosures: A dated historical revenue claim should retain its original publisher and year. It cannot be presented as a current figure unless current evidence supports that update. Los Angeles Times: historical feature
  • Partnership status: A brand can outlast a licensing or collaboration agreement. adidas’s 2022 statement documents the end of its partnership with Ye and adidas’s stated rights within that agreement; it does not settle every question about separate Yeezy-related activity. adidas: Partnership termination announcement

What this list can—and cannot—establish

There is clear primary-source evidence that Pharrell Williams and NIGO founded Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM in 2003. For several other names, the cited support is a secondary roundup or historical feature; it identifies notable rapper-brand associations but does not audit present ownership, operations, or profits. Accordingly, this is a sourced selection of rapper-linked fashion ventures, not a definitive ranking of ten currently rapper-owned and profitable companies.
