ABC’s Season 4 promo for Will Trent, released Tuesday, November 25, 2025, puts the ensemble on the dance floor at Atlanta Police Department headquarters, with Bluebell as Betty, Will’s Chihuahua, in the middle of it. The clip was built as a tonal teaser: the procedural drama is still in place, but the promo leans on the show’s playful side. It arrived ahead of the season’s January 6, 2026 premiere on ABC.
What the promo shows
According to TVLine’s report on the release (Ryan Schwartz, November 25, 2025), the promo shows the regular cast cutting loose at APD headquarters. TVLine ties the dance sequence to the Season 3 episode “The 13th Hour,” whose disco hallucination featured Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.” That connection is a useful way to read the promo: it is a callback to a previous tonal risk the show took, not a standalone gag.
Betty is the audience hook. She is Will’s Chihuahua companion, and the promo gives her a full place in the sequence rather than a cameo. The details of the exclusive preview that carried the “exclusive” framing in the headline, syndicated on IMDb in December 2025 from a Collider item, are not described in the reporting available to us, so this article does not characterize that clip’s individual shots.
Who appears in the promo
| Actor | Character | Role in the season, per producer and press coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Ramón Rodríguez | Will Trent | Lead; producers previewed him becoming emotionally unsettled |
| Erika Christensen | Angie | Pregnant with Seth’s child at the Season 3 finale; producer Karine Rosenthal said she is “maturing in ways that are unexpected to her” |
| Iantha Richardson | Faith | Called for help as Ormewood seized at the Season 3 finale |
| Jake McLaughlin | Ormewood | Learned he had a brain tumor before ending Season 3 in a seizure |
| Sonja Sohn | Amanda | Shot in Season 3; producers said she survives but with “a very visible toll” |
| Kevin Daniels | Franklin | Promoted to full-time series regular, per the season preview |
| Cora Lu Tran | Nico | Included in the producers’ Season 4 preview; no specific storyline detail was given in the coverage |
| Bluebell | Betty | Dances with the cast at APD headquarters; producers said Betty has “her biggest moment of the series” |
The Season 3 cliffhangers the promo is picking up
The promo lands on top of an unusually heavy finale, so the cast’s presence matters as much as the dancing. The setup, as TVLine summarized it:

- Realistic Design: Every part of its body, including mouth, face, ear, tail etc., has been carefully designed. So this stuffed chihuahua looks wonderfully alive.
- Spray painting design: The inner ears, eyebrows and whiskers of this Chihuahua have all been spray painted, which makes it look more realistic.
- Product Size: 8 inches Length and 7.5 inches Height
- High Quality Materails: Very soft and fluffy fur plush.Touchable and huggable.
- Use Case: Suit for kids toy, funny party props, early education animals, cute decorations in house.
- Amanda was shot while defending her precinct and survived surgery, but doctors said the next 48 hours were critical.
- Ormewood had recently learned he had a brain tumor and ended the finale in a seizure while Faith called for help.
- Angie had not miscarried. She was pregnant with Seth’s child.
Season 4 premiere and where to watch
Season 4 premiered on ABC on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 8 p.m. Eastern. TVLine reported that the episode would stream on Hulu the following day. Disney’s official streaming explainer says the premiere streamed the next day on Hulu, and on Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.
Streaming arrangements are the most volatile part of this story. Rights, bundles, and regional availability change, and the reporting above reflects what was published in late 2025 and early 2026. Check the current listing on Hulu or ABC for your country before assuming a given episode is available, and confirm whether a bundle applies to your subscription.

What the producers said before the season
TV Insider (Amanda Bell, December 29, 2025) interviewed executive producers Liz Heldens, Daniel T. Thomsen, and Karine Rosenthal ahead of the season. These are pre-season statements about direction and tone. They are not guarantees about what appears in the promo or any specific episode.
- On Will: Liz Heldens, executive producer and co-showrunner, said, “We’re playing a little bit with Will coming a little bit undone in ways both dramatic and funny.”
- On Amanda: Daniel T. Thomsen, executive producer and co-showrunner, said, “She’s going to survive this, but it’s going to take a very visible toll.”
- On Betty: Thomsen said, “Betty has her biggest moment of the series.” Heldens added that Betty “remains kind of the heart and soul of the show in many ways, like Will’s kind of precious little darling rock.”
- On Angie: Karine Rosenthal, executive producer, said Angie would be “maturing in ways that are unexpected to her.”
Why the promo works as a tonal signal
The promo’s core message is that Will Trent can carry dread and absurdity in the same season. The Season 3 finale ended on a shooting and a medical emergency. The promo answers with a group dance and a dog. Heldens’s “undone in ways both dramatic and funny” line describes the same balance. For readers who came for the crime story, the promo is a reminder that the show’s ensemble is part of its appeal, and that Betty is an intentional part of that ensemble, not a mascot added for the teaser.

What the promo does not establish is how the season’s storylines resolve. Amanda’s recovery, Ormewood’s diagnosis, and Angie’s pregnancy are all open threads in the preview coverage, and the promo itself does not settle any of them.
