ABC has renewed High Potential for a third season. TVLine reported the renewal on March 5, 2026, so the “hopeful” framing in the original headline no longer fits. The show is confirmed back, but the reporting does not tie the headline’s “major win” to a specific award, ratings milestone or other event, so that phrase is covered separately below.
What High Potential is
ABC describes High Potential as a crime drama about a single mother with an exceptional mind whose unconventional talent for solving crimes leads her into a partnership with a by-the-book detective. The series is an adaptation of the French show Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI), so the American version rebuilds that premise rather than translating episodes.

The Season 3 renewal
TVLine reported on March 5, 2026 that ABC had renewed the series for Season 3. That report is the basis for the renewal claim here. It is secondhand reporting rather than a statement quoted from ABC, and no official ABC announcement text was established in the coverage reviewed.
Season 3 has also been placed in a broader schedule. TV Insider reported a midseason return in 2027. That is schedule context, not a confirmed premiere date. The coverage reviewed does not name a specific Season 3 episode date, and no official ABC schedule establishes one.

Where the show stands on the production side
TVLine’s March 5, 2026 report also said Todd Harthan, showrunner for the first two seasons, will leave the series to focus on developing the live-action Eragon adaptation at Disney+. A replacement showrunner was reported to be announced later. As of the reporting reviewed, no replacement had been named in the sources available. Treat the departure as reported by TVLine rather than as a company statement.
The “major win” in the headline
The headline refers to a “major win,” but none of the reporting available ties that phrase to a specific award, ranking, record or event. Until a source names one, the only confirmed good news is the renewal itself. Readers who saw the phrase elsewhere should check whether the claim cites a named award body or a dated measurement report before repeating it.

Season 2 episode status and viewing figures
ABC’s official episode page lists Season 2 episodes through No. 18, “Family Tree,” dated April 8, 2026. That page is the most direct source for the season’s episode run.
TV Insider reported 12.98 million total viewers after seven days of viewing for the first seven episodes of Season 2. That figure counts ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and other digital platforms. TV Insider’s coverage does not name the original audience-measurement source, so the number should be cited as TV Insider’s reporting rather than attributed to a specific measurement company. It is also a cumulative figure for a defined window, not a full-season total.

Where to watch
ABC says full episodes are available on ABC and can be streamed on Hulu. Availability can vary by country and can change over time, so check the current ABC or Hulu listing before assuming a particular episode or season is available in your region. Subscription prices and terms for Hulu were not established in the sources reviewed and are not covered here.
