She said she was not wearing the padding her husband had suggested. The reporting on that account does not identify her diagnosis or treatment, and it describes a past injury, not her condition today.
What Hostin said happened
In a report published March 22, 2024, Enstarz quoted Hostin describing the incident in her own words, and linked the account to her Instagram post. Hostin said:
“I was taking a virtual — by Zoom — indoor skating class in my home on hardwood floors, along with a group of friends in other places. I got my skates from the attic, and put them on. I was not wearing padding, as was suggested by my husband, and I fell.”
The fall took place on hardwood floors in her home during a group class held over Zoom. Her account places the injury in the wrist and attributes it to the fall, without padding, while skating indoors.

What the reporting does not establish
Several details that readers often look for are missing from the coverage of that account:
- Diagnosis: The reporting does not say whether the wrist was fractured, sprained, or affected by another condition.
- Treatment: It does not describe the type of cast, the medical provider, or any procedure.
- Duration: Hostin was reported to expect to keep the cast for about four more weeks. That was a statement made in March 2024 and does not describe how long any cast was worn afterward.
Because none of these facts appear in the reporting, any claim about the nature of the injury would be speculation.

Where things stand in 2026
Hostin’s official biography on The View lists her as a co-host since 2016. ABC’s press materials dated October 2, 2026 list her among the co-hosts for the week of October 5 to 9, and describe the show as being in its 30th season. Those materials do not mention a current wrist cast or a new wrist injury.
Hostin’s own website describes her as an attorney, journalist, ABC News legal analyst, and co-host of The View.

A cast reported in 2024 is therefore not evidence of what she is wearing on air now. If you are looking for a current update, the most reliable sources are a fresh statement from Hostin or from ABC, not the 2024 account.
About the padding comment
Hostin’s remark that she was not wearing padding is the only safety detail in her account. Protective gear such as wrist guards is commonly used in inline and roller skating, and her comment points to that general practice. Her account does not say that padding would have prevented the fall or the injury, and nothing in the reporting endorses any particular product.

- Look for a dated statement from Hostin on her official Instagram account or website.
- Check ABC’s press materials for The View, which list the co-hosts for each week.
- Be cautious with older reports that are reshared without a date; the 2024 Enstarz article is the source for the skating account, and it does not provide a current status.
The skating fall is a documented personal injury from March 2024. Nothing in the available reporting shows a cast on the show in 2026.
