Spencer Pratt’s stated grievance with Alex Cooper was that he asked her to promote a song by his wife, Heidi Montag, after the couple lost their home in the Palisades fire, and she did not, according to a report of Pratt’s January 2025 comments. The disagreement followed a tense December 2024 interview on Call Her Daddy, but the available accounts do not establish that the interview caused the later dispute—or that the two have permanently ruled out working together.
What did Spencer Pratt say Alex Cooper did?
In January 2025, Pratt told Bethenny Frankel during a TikTok Live that he had asked Cooper to promote a song from Montag’s 2010 album Superficial. Yahoo Entertainment reported that Pratt was upset because Cooper allegedly did not promote it. That account establishes Pratt’s public explanation; it does not document the complete private exchange or explain Cooper’s reasons.
The request came after the Palisades fire began on January 7, 2025, and destroyed the couple’s home, according to contemporaneous coverage. The timing gives context to Pratt’s request, but it does not independently verify what Cooper was asked or what she did in response.
What happened on Call Her Daddy?
Cooper interviewed Pratt in an episode of Call Her Daddy published December 6, 2024. Apple Podcasts’ episode listing quotes Cooper asking: “You will obviously never be as relevant as you once were, how does that make you feel?” The listing says Pratt became angry and stormed out. This is the wording and description in Apple’s synopsis, rather than a transcript verified against the audio.

The interview happened before the fire and the later music-promotion dispute. It is relevant background, but the sources do not show that it prompted Pratt’s request or his January comments about Cooper.
What is confirmed—and what remains unclear?
- Confirmed: The interview episode was published on December 6, 2024, and Apple’s listing includes the question about Pratt’s past relevance and says he stormed out.
- Attributed to Pratt: In January 2025, he said he had asked Cooper to promote a Heidi Montag song and was upset that she did not.
- Not established: Cooper’s reason, any direct response from her, the full details of the request, or a permanent decision by either person not to collaborate.
That distinction matters because the word “never” in the headline should not be read as a confirmed, lasting ban on working together. The sources describe a reported grievance, not a definitive statement that future collaboration is impossible.
