Sony’s Treat Codes scavenger hunt was a 2022 PlayStation campaign, but it is over: PlayStation’s official U.S. page now says “Treat Codes is now over.” The campaign invited people to find codes for opportunities to enter to win a PS5; the page no longer offers a way to enter.
How did the PlayStation Treat Codes hunt work?
In a video published February 15, 2022, the official PlayStation account described a two-week hunt: “Over the next two weeks, 14 unique codes will appear in unexpected places. Each one gives you an opportunity to enter and win a PS5™.” In other words, finding a code created an opportunity to enter; the description does not say that finding one guaranteed a console.
The announcement did not specify a complete release schedule or list every place where codes would appear. The available official campaign page does not provide current entry instructions.
Can you still enter or find the codes?
No. PlayStation’s official Treat Codes page says the campaign is over and thanks participants. It does not offer an active entry route. The announcement and current page do not establish a verified winner total, odds of winning, regional eligibility, or regional prize allocation, so those details should not be assumed.

Was Treat Codes the same as PlayStation’s Doritos contest?
No. Treat Codes was the 2022, 14-code campaign. PlayStation’s separate “Find All 4, Win a PlayStation 5” Doritos promotion was announced in 2020 and had different entry methods and market-specific dates. Its rules and locations are not evidence of Treat Codes eligibility.
| Campaign | Entry mechanic described by PlayStation | Dates and geography |
|---|---|---|
| Treat Codes | Find 14 unique codes appearing in unexpected places over two weeks; each offered an opportunity to enter to win a PS5. | Announced February 15, 2022. The cited announcement does not establish a complete country list or regional eligibility. |
| “Find All 4, Win a PlayStation 5” Doritos promotion | Submit a code from a promotional Doritos pack for an instant-win promotion, or use an augmented-reality quest to locate virtual Doritos bags and collect four PlayStation symbols. | Separate 2020 promotion. The PlayStation Blog listed the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland, with dates varying by market. |
PlayStation’s 2020 Doritos announcement gives more detail on that earlier promotion. It said the AR quest used a Vatom wallet and a map of nearby virtual Doritos bags, and that participation and rewards were limited. Those mechanics, dates, and country listings should not be applied to Treat Codes.

Overall Murals, the contractor behind a Williamsburg, Brooklyn wallscape for PlayStation Treat Codes, reports that 392,388 passersby witnessed it. That is the contractor’s figure; its case-study page does not state a measurement method or provide independent confirmation. It describes exposure to the mural, not the number of people who entered the contest.
