What is Alien: Romulus about?
The studio’s spoiler-light premise centers on young space colonizers scavenging the depths of a derelict space station. Their search brings them face to face with a deadly life form. The phrase “ultimate killing machines” in the headline is promotional language, not a precise description of the creature or creatures; the official synopsis describes the threat as a dangerous life form.
How the film returns to horror
Alvarez described his aim as returning to the franchise’s simpler horror foundation: “The whole point of this movie was to take back Alien to the simplicity of the beginning of the franchise, where it was, above all things, a horror movie.” He made the comment in a Walt Disney Company interview published August 16, 2024.
