Who is directing BRZRKR?
TheWrap reported that Justin Lin was set to direct. Lin has directed entries in the Fast & Furious franchise, which is why the project was described as landing a director from that series. The report also named Mattson Tomlin, screenwriter of The Batman, as the person adapting the comic for the screen.
Reeves was reported to produce alongside Ross Richie and Stephen Christy for BOOM! Studios, and Stephen Hamel for Company Films. Lin was also reported as a producer through Perfect Storm. TheWrap described the project as reuniting Lin and Reeves after Reeves invested in Lin’s indie drama Last Days, which debuted at Sundance in January 2025.

What is the BRZRKR story about?
The comic centers on B, a half-mortal, half-god immortal warrior compelled to violence. Its premise follows an 80,000-year fictional fight through the ages. In the story, B works for the U.S. government on exceptionally dangerous battles in exchange for answers about his existence and a way to end it.

The March 7, 2025 announcement reported the creative attachments and Netflix connection, but did not provide a production-start date or release date. It also does not confirm whether the project remains in active development or has entered production. TheWrap’s report therefore establishes what was announced at that time, not the film’s status as of October 8, 2026.
