A previously unseen photo of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, was reported in the cover of their Instagram Stories Highlight “August rewind” in October 2024. It was not described as a newly dated feed post, and the report does not confirm when the image was uploaded or whether it remains visible.
Where the photo was found
A People report republished by Yahoo on October 4, 2024, said the image appeared as the cover of the couple’s Instagram Stories Highlight labeled “August rewind.” The outlet characterized the picture as previously unseen and described William and Catherine standing outdoors in blue polo shirts.
A Highlight is distinct from a standard feed post: the report identified the image through the Highlight cover, not as a clearly dated new post. It did not independently establish the original upload date or whether the cover is still displayed on the account.
Why the setting looked familiar
The report said the outdoor setting appeared similar to the one in a video William and Catherine shared on August 11, 2024, congratulating Team GB after the Paris Olympics. Visual similarity is not confirmation that the photo was taken at the same time or place as the video.

In the video, Catherine said, “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.” William followed: “Well done on all you’ve achieved, you’ve been an inspiration to us all.” These lines are quoted in the People report; an independent transcript was not available in the cited coverage.
The photo’s 2024 context
The report placed the image amid Catherine’s gradual return to public life in 2024. On September 9 that year, she announced that she had finished chemotherapy, while making clear that recovery was continuing. Her statement, as quoted by Yahoo’s republication of People, said: “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.” This is historical context from 2024, not an update on her present health.
