No evidence supports the claim that Apple Music fired Jay-Z. The NFL’s Super Bowl LX page credits Roc Nation as a co-executive producer, and Roc Nation later credited JAŸ-Z as an executive producer of the show. Those credits indicate continued involvement, though they do not reveal private contract terms or prove that no internal discussion ever took place.
What the official credits show
The NFL’s Super Bowl LX halftime page describes the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show as a collaboration involving the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation. It lists Roc Nation and Jesse Collins as co-executive producers. A September 2026 Roc Nation release says the show was executive produced by Roc Nation and JAŸ-Z.
These are production credits, not a disclosure of Jay-Z’s employment status or contract. But they are direct, later evidence of his involvement in the Super Bowl LX production, and they do not support the claim that he had been fired from that role.
Apple Music’s role is different from Roc Nation’s
Apple Music is the show’s title sponsor; Roc Nation has a production role. The NFL page identifies Apple Music in the event name and credits Roc Nation and Jesse Collins as co-executive producers. Sponsorship and production are distinct roles, so a claim that Apple Music “fired” Jay-Z should not be treated as established merely because Apple Music sponsors the show.

What the NFL said about its relationship with Roc Nation
On December 11, 2024, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the league’s relationship with Jay-Z and Roc Nation. The Associated Press reported his response: “From our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.” AP also reported that the NFL and Roc Nation had extended their partnership a few months earlier.
Goodell’s statement is a dated account of the NFL’s position in December 2024, not a disclosure of every later contract term. It provides context, while the subsequent Super Bowl LX production credits provide more recent evidence of Roc Nation’s involvement.

How the firing rumor was described
A February 12, 2026 post on AppleInsider Forums said the rumor originated in a satirical post whose disclaimer was omitted from screenshots. That explanation is secondary and forum-hosted, and the original satirical post was not independently examined. It is context for how the claim may have circulated, not the basis for concluding whether Jay-Z was fired.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can—and cannot—be concluded
The sources reviewed contain no official announcement that Jay-Z was fired and no direct Apple Music statement addressing the claim. The NFL’s later production credits and Roc Nation’s executive-producer credit point to continued involvement in the Super Bowl LX show. They do not establish the details of private agreements or prove that no internal discussion occurred. The careful conclusion is that no credible evidence in these sources supports the firing claim.
