There is no public evidence confirming whether contestants on America’s Got Talent: All-Stars received an appearance fee. A 2023 report says contestants on the main America’s Got Talent series generally are not paid to appear, but it does not establish the contract terms for the All-Stars edition. The available evidence therefore points to no general appearance pay on AGT, while leaving the spin-off’s specific arrangement unverified.
What is known about All-Stars contestant pay?
The public sources available do not settle the question for the 2023 All-Stars production. Bell Media’s series description says the edition brought together winners, finalists, fan favorites and viral acts from past AGT and international Got Talent seasons to compete for an All-Star title. It does not discuss compensation.
A 2023 Yahoo Entertainment report says AGT contestants generally are not paid for appearing. That is relevant context, but the report does not identify the All-Stars participant agreement or confirm that returning acts had the same terms. No public primary document located establishes whether this spin-off paid an appearance fee.
Appearance fees, production support and prizes are different
“Paid to appear” can refer to several different things. A fee would be compensation for participating; expense coverage or services would help with the costs of production; and prize money would go to a winner under the competition’s rules. One category does not prove another.

The Yahoo report describes practical support associated with AGT, including accommodation, food, equipment, travel, transportation, and medical or other services. That is secondary reporting about the franchise generally, not confirmed language from the All-Stars contract. Such support, even if provided, would not by itself establish an appearance fee.
A secondary reference page reports that the All-Stars winner received a $500,000 cash prize. That figure is reported by Wikipedia, not established here by a primary source. In any case, a prize for the winner is distinct from an appearance fee for contestants and does not show that every act was paid to participate.

Why AGT’s online audition terms do not answer it
The official online audition terms, effective October 23, 2025, concern the use of material submitted through online auditions. They say acts are not entitled to compensation for certain uses of that submitted material. Those terms address audition-video rights; they are not the 2023 All-Stars filming agreement and cannot establish whether on-camera contestants received appearance pay.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What would confirm the All-Stars arrangement?
The clearest evidence would be the participant agreement for the 2023 All-Stars production or an on-record statement from a contestant or producer specifically addressing appearance compensation. Without that, the best-supported answer is that general reporting says AGT contestants usually are not paid to appear, but whether All-Stars contestants had a fee remains unverified.
