Were the leaked images really from Avengers: Doomsday?
According to ComicBook.com’s March 14, 2025 account of an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Russo said, “No, because that artwork was not from Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.” Anthony Russo added, “Nothing spoiling in there. That’s not our concept art.”
Those reported statements directly reject the claim that the circulated artwork was concept art for the Russo brothers’ films. How does the July 2026 illustration differ?
In July 2026, former Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park shared a separate illustration and explicitly tied it to Avengers: Doomsday. India Today quoted Park describing it as an illustration commemorating the last full film he led in that role, adding that it revealed characters and their looks for the first time. The report described designs for Doctor Doom, Loki, Nightcrawler, Beast, and Mystique.
GamesRadar’s coverage described a broader lineup in the illustration, including Steve Rogers, Reed Richards, legacy X-Men, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, Wakandans, Thor, and Ant-Man. This later image has a different provenance: Park expressly connected it to the film. It is not retroactive confirmation that the March 2025 images were authentic. Nor does a character’s absence from a promotional illustration prove that character is absent from the movie.
