On his official karate page, Lundgren says he began martial-arts training with judo at 16 and moved to karate about a year later. 20. He was hesitant about playing He-Man—and cold on set
In a June 16, 2026 interview with The Guardian, Lundgren recalled that he “didn’t want to play a toy” and worried his accent would sound too Swedish. He said filming took place outdoors in winter and that he was “extremely cold.” He also recalled doing most of his own stunts and his hair extensions catching fire during a sporting-goods-store shootout.
