Eminem’s best-documented fast-rap benchmark is 225 words in 30 seconds on “Godzilla”—7.5 words per second, according to Guinness World Records. A 2024 Music Times feature names nine other rappers and cites fast passages from their songs, but its figures use different methods and units. The list below is a set of comparisons, not a standardized ranking proving that all nine match or beat Eminem.

What counts as “as fast as Eminem”?

Speed figures depend on what is counted and how long the passage lasts. Words per second and syllables per second are different measures; a brief burst is not equivalent to a sustained verse average. Track version, timing boundaries, and syllable-counting method can also change the result. A University of Canterbury thesis excerpt puts one “Rap God” section at 11.4 syllables per second, while cautioning that rap’s variability makes precise measurement difficult.

Guinness’s Eminem figures offer a useful reference, but they do not make the other artists’ reported syllable rates directly comparable. Music Times’ figures below are attributed to that outlet, not presented as independently verified or as one common-method ranking.

The benchmark: Eminem

“Godzilla”

Guinness World Records reports that Eminem delivered 225 words in a timed 30-second segment of “Godzilla” in 2020, an average of 7.5 words per second for that passage. This is a segment-specific result, not a speed for the whole song or a measure of every Eminem verse.

“Rap God” and “Majesty”

“Rap God” has a separate Guinness distinction: the record page reports 1,560 words in 6 minutes 4 seconds for the hit single, averaging 4.28 words per second. Guinness notes that its total includes an intro by an unknown vocalist and an uncertain number of background words; when counting Eminem’s verses and choruses alone, it reports 1,460 words in 5 minutes 38 seconds. Guinness also counts 97 words in a 15-second “Rap God” passage, or 6.46 words per second. On Nicki Minaj’s “Majesty,” Eminem delivered 78 words in 12 seconds, or 6.5 words per second, in a 2018 performance.

Nine other rappers named in the comparison

Music Times’ December 24, 2024 feature gives song-specific syllables-per-second estimates for most of these artists. Those estimates should be read as that publication’s claims, not as Guinness-certified records or a direct, like-for-like test against “Godzilla.”

Twista — “Mr. Tung Twista”

Music Times reports 11.2 syllables per second for “Mr. Tung Twista.” The feature also says Twista received a Guinness record in 1992; that historical claim is not independently established here, so it should not be treated as a current record or exact comparison with Eminem’s word-count result.

Krayzie Bone — “Clash of the Titans”

Music Times gives “Clash of the Titans” an estimate of 12.5 syllables per second and frames the passage as a response to “Rap God.” That is a track-specific outlet estimate, not a verified common-method comparison.

Busta Rhymes — “Hello”

The feature reports 12.8 syllables per second for “Hello.” It also points to “Break Ya Neck” and “Look at Me Now” as examples associated with Busta Rhymes’ rapid delivery, but supplies no comparable figures for those tracks in the cited list.

Tonedeff — “Crispy”

Music Times estimates “Crispy” at 14 syllables per second. The figure belongs to the outlet’s song-level comparison and does not establish a sustained rate across the full track.

Tech N9ne — “Taking Online Orders”

The feature reports an estimate of 15.2 syllables per second for “Taking Online Orders.” It is not a word-per-second measurement comparable directly to Guinness’s “Godzilla” count.

Twisted Insane — “Visions”

Music Times gives “Visions” a rate of 15.6 syllables per second. As with the other outlet estimates, the cited figure does not document a shared timing and counting protocol with Eminem’s benchmark.

Rebel XD — “Record Breaker”

The feature cites “Record Breaker” and says it contains 852 words in 42 seconds, while also giving a parenthetical syllables-per-second figure. The units and arithmetic are not reconciled in the article excerpt, so that number cannot serve as a reliable apples-to-apples comparison here.

Outsider — “Loner”

Music Times estimates 24 syllables per second for “Loner.” The figure is the feature’s report, not evidence of an independently verified record or a directly comparable “Godzilla” rate.

Crucified — “Power Up”

The feature reports 28.9 syllables per second for “Power Up” and notes that the claim has generated debate. It should be treated as a disputed outlet-reported estimate, not an official record established by the evidence cited here.

So, who can rap as fast as Eminem?

Twista, Krayzie Bone, Busta Rhymes, Tonedeff, Tech N9ne, Twisted Insane, Rebel XD, Outsider, and Crucified are all named as speed-rap comparisons in Music Times’ 2024 feature. But the cited material does not establish a unified top ten or prove that any one of their passages is faster than “Godzilla” under the same measurement method. The clearest supported answer is narrower: Eminem’s “Godzilla” benchmark is 7.5 words per second across a specified 30-second segment; the other artists’ figures are mostly syllables-per-second estimates from a separate outlet.
