Turbulence (2025) is a high-altitude thriller about a couple whose hot-air-balloon trip over Italy’s Dolomites turns dangerous when a passenger connected to the past joins them. Claudio Fäh directed the English-language film, which stars Hera Hilmar, Jeremy Irvine, Kelsey Grammer and Olga Kurylenko. Viewing options and listed runtimes vary by platform and country.
What is Turbulence (2025) about?
The film follows Zach and Emmy on a hot-air-balloon trip intended to help them reconnect. The Apple TV synopsis places the flight over Italy’s Dolomites. The danger begins when a third passenger with a connection to Zach’s past becomes part of the journey.
Services phrase the turn differently: STARZ says a third passenger joins the couple, while Hulu and Rotten Tomatoes describe the ride as hijacked by a sinister passenger. These are promotional descriptions from their respective listings, not separate accounts of the plot. The year in the title matters: this is not the 1997 airplane thriller also called Turbulence.
