Santa Fe County’s April 15, 2025, statement concerned the release of redacted records from the death investigation under a court order, alongside the family’s privacy concerns. It did not confirm funeral or burial arrangements. Sheriff Adan Mendoza said the county had a responsibility to balance public transparency with the dignity of a grieving family.
