Netflix reported different categories and viewing periods for the two films.

Netflix reported Exterritorial at No. 1 on its global non-English film chart for the week of April 28–May 4, 2025. The film had 38.3 million views and 69.6 million hours viewed during that week, according to Netflix’s non-English film chart.
Havoc, starring Tom Hardy, topped Netflix’s English film chart. Netflix’s May 6 recap reported 26.5 million views for the week and 56.3 million views across the film’s first 10 days. Those figures refer to different reporting windows; the 56.3 million figure is cumulative over 10 days, not a weekly total. See Netflix’s May 6 chart recap.

The numbers are Netflix-reported streaming figures, not independently measured audience counts. Because the films led separate language-category charts and the figures cover different periods, they support the narrower claim that both topped their respective lists—not a definitive verdict about which had the larger audience on matched terms. GamesRadar used the broad “worldwide No. 1” framing in its coverage of the chart breakout; Netflix’s chart categories and dates provide the needed context.

What is Exterritorial about?
Exterritorial is a German action thriller written and directed by Christian Zübert and starring Jeanne Goursaud. Netflix announced its worldwide exclusive release for April 30, 2025. Its story follows Sara, a former elite soldier whose son disappears during a visit to the US consulate in Frankfurt. As she searches the building, she uncovers a conspiracy. Netflix’s title listing describes the premise as: “When her son vanishes inside a US consulate, ex-special forces soldier Sara does everything in her power to find him — and uncovers a dark conspiracy.”

Netflix identifies German as the film’s original audio and classifies it as a German action/adventure movie. English is listed as an available audio option, but that does not establish that the film itself is bilingual.
