The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift’s 12th full-length album, was released on October 3, 2025. Max Martin and Shellback produced all 12 tracks; Sabrina Carpenter appears on the title track.
Release and production
Apple Music lists the album at 41 minutes, with 12 songs on its original edition. Universal Music Japan says Swift made it in Sweden during the European leg of The Eras Tour. The label describes that tour as spanning 51 cities and 149 shows.
Martin and Shellback are returning collaborators, not new ones: GRAMMY.com reported that this was their first work on one of Swift’s new albums since reputation. On the New Heights podcast, Swift said they had not worked together in “like 7 or 8 years,” adding, “It felt like catching lightning in a bottle, honestly.” She also said her aim was, “I want to be as proud of an album as I am of the Eras Tour, and for the same reasons.”
