How the service was described in 2020
On March 11, 2020, BGR reported that AllTheStreams.fm assembled a random feed of programming from Netflix, Disney+, HBO Now, Prime Video, Showtime, and Hulu. Viewers could switch channels or choose a service feed, but could not select the particular show they wanted to watch. BGR described the site as accessible on PC and mobile at the time; that historical description does not confirm present-day availability or compatibility.
The key trade-off was control: the site offered whatever happened to be playing rather than a searchable catalogue. BGR’s headline captured the catch as “You’re not in control.” BGR’s March 11, 2020 report is the source for this account.
Was the programming authorized?
The 2020 report does not establish that AllTheStreams.fm had licenses or permission from the services or rights holders. BGR quoted an unnamed manifesto on the site: “All The Streams doesn’t care about user-utility, it doesn’t care about scalability – and it certainly doesn’t care about terms of service!” That statement is evidence of the site’s own stated attitude, not proof of a specific legal violation or a court ruling.

BGR called the service “probably illegal.” That was the reporter’s assessment, not a legal determination. The available account provides no basis to say whether the site is currently operating, authorized, or accessible.
What to use instead for free streaming
Free, ad-supported streaming services are a separate option from the random feed described in the 2020 story. Tom’s Guide’s February 14, 2026 guide describes free services offering films, shows, and live channels without subscription fees, with advertising supporting the viewing. One average ad-load figure in that guide is nine minutes per hour, attributed to Wurl Analytics; the cited passage does not specify the report year, so it should be treated as an attributed estimate rather than a universal rule.
