Is APXGP a real Formula 1 team?
No. APXGP, also written as APX GP, is fictional and is not an actual Formula 1 entrant. Formula 1 described it as a fictional team in its announcement of the film. Its presence in the story should not be confused with a real team competing in the championship.
When did the film come out?
The theatrical release began internationally on June 25, 2025, followed by North America on June 27, 2025. Those are the film’s release dates, not an upcoming release window. Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s announcement describes the project and its release.

How did the production use real Formula 1 settings?
The film was made in collaboration with Formula 1 and filmed in real time during Grand Prix events. The production involved members of the F1 community, including teams, drivers, the FIA, and race promoters. That gives the fictional team a setting connected to actual race weekends; it does not make APXGP a real competitor. Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s production announcement provides the collaboration details.
Production design also extended to the team’s kit and equipment. Bell Racing US says Racing Force Group brands OMP, Bell Racing, and Racing Spirit supplied racewear, helmets, and uniforms for APXGP. It describes the actors and stunt doubles using FIA-homologated racewear and helmets during on-track filming. This is production context, not a recommendation for casual fans to buy racing safety gear. Bell Racing US’s account of its contribution names the suppliers and equipment.
