How did the Secret Rendezvous test work?
Host Jesse Palmer asked questions while contestants sat in separate booths attached to a circular structure. Couples tried to give matching answers. The pair with the most matches won: the man in that pair received the first rose to hand out and immunity from that week’s elimination vote.
There was also a route for two contestants who were not coupled. If they matched on five answers, they could leave their booths and accept an offer for a secret rendezvous.

Which couples had a major development?
Lea and Jonathon win the test
Lea and Jonathon won, even though Jonathon had told Lea the previous week that he saw her as a friend. They talked about putting their feelings aside and concentrating on the prize.
Bailey confronts Jeremy
During the test, Bailey matched with Spencer and Brian. Brian told her that Jeremy had said he wanted to be with Susie rather than Bailey. Bailey confronted Jeremy about the disclosure. He apologized and asked her not to leave; the next morning, he reassured her, and she decided to stay with him in Paradise.
Rank #2
Brian’s disclosure and the conflict that followed made him a target among the other contestants before the vote.
Kim and Faith are eliminated
Kim and Faith were described as an official couple, but their conspicuous public affection raised suspicions among other contestants. They were voted out at the end of the episode. Some contestants cited Kim’s health issues as a reason for the vote; the recap writer interprets the decision instead as frustration with the couple’s public displays of affection. Those are distinct explanations: one is attributed to contestants, the other is the writer’s reading of the vote.
