The Associated Press reported that the files supplied little context and did not say when or where the photographs were taken. Fox News described Kevin Spacey as appearing in photographs with Clinton; that description likewise does not establish misconduct.
What the released photographs show
The Associated Press reported that photographs of Clinton were included among thousands of documents in the initial release. AP described images of Clinton on a private plane, in a pool with Ghislaine Maxwell and another person, and in a hot tub with a woman. Some faces were redacted. AP’s report and image captions do not identify the other people in all the images, so redacted or unnamed individuals should not be treated as identified.

Fox News described Kevin Spacey as appearing in photographs with Clinton. That is a description reported by Fox News, not evidence that the photographs establish wrongdoing by either person.
What the photos do—and do not—establish
Appearance in a file is not proof of wrongdoing
A photograph’s inclusion in an investigative file does not, on its own, prove that the people pictured committed a crime or were involved in Epstein’s crimes. Fox News also cautioned that inclusion in the files does not necessarily imply wrongdoing. AP reported that Clinton had not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.

Date, location and context are missing
AP reported that the files do not state when or where the photographs were taken and provide little surrounding context. The images therefore cannot establish a specific occasion, the circumstances of the scene, or a connection to criminal conduct based only on the released material described in the reporting.

Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña responded: “They can release as many grainy 20-plus-year-old photos as they want, but this isn’t about Bill Clinton,” Ureña said. “Never has been, never will be.” This is the spokesman’s characterization of the release, not an independent finding about what the photographs show or prove.
