To stream a Samsung Galaxy’s camera to YouTube Live with Larix Broadcaster, create or select a stream in YouTube Studio, copy that stream’s server URL and stream key into a Larix connection, check camera and microphone access, then start sending video from the app. For a scheduled broadcast, you may also need to click Go live in YouTube’s Live Control Room after the preview appears.
What you need before you start
- A Samsung Galaxy with Larix Broadcaster installed.
- A YouTube account that can use Live Control Room. YouTube account eligibility can vary; check the current status and prompts in YouTube Studio.
- A reliable internet connection suitable for sending live video.
- The server URL and stream key for the specific stream you plan to use. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or show it in screenshots.
YouTube lists Larix Broadcaster as an Android mobile encoder. Its encoder workflow uses the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the Studio workflow, and Softvelum’s Larix documentation describes the app’s streaming configuration.
Create or select a YouTube stream
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Choose the Stream tab. For a first stream, edit the stream details and select Create stream. If you have streamed before, you may be able to use an existing stream and its settings.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Use the values YouTube provides for this stream; do not use a sample key from a tutorial or an unrelated stream.
- Set the stream’s visibility to public, private, or unlisted as appropriate. Choose this before sharing the watch page. YouTube’s documented defaults vary by age group: private for creators aged 13–17 and public for creators aged 18 or older. YouTube’s privacy settings guidance describes these options.
Enter the YouTube connection in Larix
- Open Larix Broadcaster and create a connection. Button names and screen layout can vary by Larix version.
- Enter the current server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio in Larix’s connection settings. Larix’s YouTube RTMP setup uses the server/application URL together with the stream name or key; follow the fields and format presented by your current app and YouTube stream. Do not substitute example credentials.
- Check that the connection is set to send audio + video, then choose a bitrate appropriate for your connection. There is no single bitrate established here as safe for every Galaxy, network, or broadcast; use a setting your upload connection can sustain and check YouTube’s current guidance.
- When Android prompts for access, allow Larix to use the camera and microphone. Verify that the preview shows the intended camera and that the selected audio source is receiving sound. Permission wording and Settings paths differ by Android and One UI release.

Start now or schedule the broadcast

For either path, watch the YouTube Live Control Room status and preview rather than assuming the phone’s sending indicator alone means viewers can see the broadcast. When finished, stop sending from Larix. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after encoder transmission ends. Troubleshoot a missing picture, sound, or live status
- YouTube shows no incoming video: confirm the URL and key were copied from the correct stream, and that Larix is using the current server address. Check that the encoder is actually sending.
- The preview has no sound: confirm Android granted microphone access, check Larix’s selected audio source, and ensure the connection is configured for audio plus video.
- The preview is missing: verify camera permission and the selected camera in Larix. If it still does not appear, the problem may involve a device, codec, or network condition not established by the general setup instructions.
- A scheduled broadcast is not live: look for the encoder preview in Live Control Room and select Go live when it appears.
- The connection drops or struggles: check the phone’s internet connection and whether its upload capacity can sustain the chosen bitrate. Adjusting bitrate may help, but the right value depends on the connection and stream settings.
- The stream key may have been exposed: keep it private and use YouTube Studio to manage the stream credentials; do not keep broadcasting with a key you believe is compromised.
These checks follow the documented YouTube and Larix workflow, but cannot guarantee a fix for every Galaxy model, Android release, network, or codec issue.
Optional audio equipment
An external microphone can be useful if the Galaxy’s built-in microphone is not suitable for the location or subject. YouTube lists external microphones and headphones among common casual-stream equipment. Connector type and Android compatibility depend on the exact Galaxy model and microphone, so confirm both before buying or connecting one. YouTube’s live-streaming hardware guidance discusses general equipment categories.
