You can run the playback and encoder on a computer that stays on, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded files. In YouTube Live Control Room, create the stream, give the encoder its stream key, check the incoming preview, and start the broadcast. Before going live, confirm recording rights and plan how to preserve an archive: YouTube’s creator guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so do not rely on one complete replay of a longer transmission.
What you need for a continuous stream
YouTube receives a live feed from an encoder; it does not supply a universal Studio control that loops your recordings for you. The encoder’s playback workflow must repeat the playlist and send the feed continuously. Google’s API documentation explicitly describes a 24/7 live-feed use case: Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.
- Recordings you created or have permission to broadcast, including permission for any accompanying audio or visual material.
- A playback-and-encoding source: a local computer and encoder, or a cloud playlist service.
- A YouTube channel and a stream created in Live Control Room, with its stream key entered into the encoder.
- A monitoring and recovery plan for playback, connection, and YouTube warnings or interruptions.
Exact encoder settings depend on the software and the source media. The available YouTube creator guide explains the stream-key, preview, and Go Live workflow, but does not establish one set of bitrate, resolution, or keyframe settings for every encoder. Follow the current guidance shown by your encoder and YouTube’s Live Control Room rather than assuming one configuration fits all.
Choose where the playlist will run
| Approach | How it works | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Local computer and encoder | The computer plays local recordings in a repeating playlist and sends the encoded feed to YouTube. | The computer and its network connection must stay available. A dedicated mini PC is optional; an existing suitable computer may work. |
| Cloud playlist encoder | You upload recordings to a hosted service, arrange playback, and provide YouTube’s RTMP destination and stream key. | Your personal computer need not remain online, but you depend on the service’s current storage, features, availability, and price. Check those terms before choosing a provider. |
For a local setup, configure your encoder or media workflow to repeat the playlist and send its output to YouTube. Check that audio continues cleanly when one recording ends and the next begins. For a cloud setup, verify how the service handles playlist transitions, monitoring, and restart after a failure. A provider’s documented workflow is not a YouTube guarantee or endorsement.

Prepare recordings and confirm broadcast rights
Use recordings you made or have explicit permission to broadcast. The fact that a recording contains Quran recitation, or that you credit its source, does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast that specific recording. Keep a record of permissions and, for licensed third-party material, ask the rights holder whether your channel needs to be allowlisted through Content ID.
YouTube says that “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” Its guidance explains that a placeholder may replace a stream when a match is detected; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A license may not prevent a live interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel. If the broadcast is archived, a Content ID claim may also arrive after the live stream ends. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams before broadcasting third-party material.

Set up the YouTube live stream
- Create the broadcast: In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream. Set the title, description, and visibility for the broadcast.
- Copy the stream key: Use the stream key shown for that broadcast in your encoder’s YouTube or RTMP settings. Treat it like a password: anyone with the key may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it or share it unnecessarily.
- Configure playback: Select the playlist and enable repeating playback in your local workflow, or arrange the playlist in your cloud service. Check that the outgoing audio and video are the intended recordings.
- Start the encoder: Start sending the feed and wait for YouTube’s incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the picture and sound before starting the public broadcast.
- Go live and monitor: When the preview is healthy, use Go Live in Live Control Room. Check the stream periodically, especially playlist transitions, and look in YouTube Studio for warnings or interruptions.
YouTube’s creator guide covers creating a stream, entering the key in an encoder, waiting for the preview, and then clicking Go Live: Setting up your live stream. If you are implementing a custom encoder, Google’s HLS ingestion requirements apply to that technical workflow; an ordinary creator using an encoder interface does not need to configure HLS ingestion directly.
Keep the broadcast running and preserve an archive
A 24/7 feed needs attention even when it is intended to run unattended. Check that recordings advance without silence or unintended gaps, the encoder continues sending, and YouTube has not displayed a copyright or other warning. Keep a way to restart local playback or the hosted stream, and check Studio if the broadcast stops; YouTube directs creators to check Studio for strikes when streams stop.

Keep the source recordings separately if you need a complete replay. The cited YouTube creator guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and recommends separately recording longer streams for manual upload. Since that guidance does not establish a complete archive for a 24-hour transmission, do not promise or depend on a single full-length replay; check current Studio behavior before relying on automatic archiving.
