1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesNo—not for a live feed that depends on the computer you turn off. StreamVoodoo’s documented workflow uses a browser to connect live feeds and requires participants to grant camera and microphone access. Its documentation does not describe a cloud feature that takes over a participant’s capture or keeps that feed running after their computer is shut down.
Why a StreamVoodoo feed depends on the computer
StreamVoodoo describes its WebApp as connecting multiple live video feeds through a browser. To start a room, a user signs in, selects a room and display name, grants camera and microphone permissions, and shares an invitation link. That is a device-based live session, not a documented scheduled or cloud-hosted continuation mode. StreamVoodoo’s FAQ and its terms identify compatible devices, software, and internet access as part of using the service.
So if the computer capturing a participant’s camera or screen feed is turned off, assume that feed and the participant’s live session stop. This is an inference from the documented browser, device, and permission requirements; the FAQ does not specifically describe a shutdown test or spell out that exact scenario.
StreamVoodoo room versus an OBS or vMix broadcast
A room and a broadcast to YouTube or another destination are separate parts of a production chain. StreamVoodoo says a Magic Link can expose an individual feed with sound for use as a browser source in a switcher such as OBS or vMix. Its FAQ also describes those applications as tools for recording or sending a production to a streaming destination.

- Participant feed: the participant’s device and browser capture the live camera or microphone input.
- Production software: OBS or vMix receives feeds and can switch, record, or send a production onward.
- Streaming destination: the platform or RTMP server receives the outgoing broadcast.
The reviewed StreamVoodoo material does not establish that the room, production software, or outgoing broadcast remains active if the computer running the relevant part is shut down. Do not assume that the room hands off capture to the cloud, or that OBS or vMix continues broadcasting without the computer running it.
What to expect when you shut down
- Identify which computer you mean. Turning off a participant’s computer affects the feed captured on that device. Turning off the production computer affects the local OBS or vMix workflow running there.
- Expect the dependent part of the chain to stop. StreamVoodoo’s published workflow calls for live browser-based feeds and device access; it does not document autonomous continuation after shutdown.
- Check the destination separately. If you are broadcasting outward, verify the stream status at the destination rather than treating an open StreamVoodoo room as proof that the broadcast is still being sent.
Connection and audio details that matter while the computer is on
StreamVoodoo recommends a wired Ethernet connection for its highest-quality video settings; its FAQ says, “For those qualities to perform as they should, an ethernet connection is required.” A cable may help meet that connection recommendation, but it cannot keep a live session running after the computer is powered off.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The FAQ also recommends headphones when Studio Sound is enabled, to reduce the chance that speaker audio re-enters the microphone and causes feedback. That is an audio setup consideration, not a way to maintain a session after shutdown.
