To stream a recorded Christian prayer meeting around the clock, play the recording on a looping encoder such as OBS Studio and send that feed to a YouTube Live stream using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Before going live, confirm the channel is eligible, you have rights to everything in the recording, and your internet connection can sustain the stream. Treat a continuous broadcast and a dependable replay as separate goals: YouTube says streams over 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.
Choose how the recordings will rotate

Check eligibility and prepare the recording
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. The person streaming must be at least 16. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance before scheduling the event.
Clear every element in the video
Check rights for the full recording, not just the main prayer or sermon. That includes hymns and other music, performers, prayers, images, and any embedded third-party video. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility for necessary worldwide rights—including music rights—and applicable local compliance on the provider. If the ministry does not wholly own an element, obtain written permission that covers YouTube live transmission, repetition, territory, performers, music, and archiving as applicable. India-specific approvals can depend on the organization, content, and distribution. The platform terms assign local compliance responsibility to the provider; do not assume one blanket rule applies to every church or ministry. Seek advice for your own circumstances if you need a legal determination.
Prepare a dependable source file
- Confirm the file plays from beginning to end and contains the intended audio and picture.
- For a playlist, check the order and playback of each file before using it on air.
- Keep a separate local copy if you need an archive that does not depend on YouTube capturing the live stream.
Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube Live
- Create the YouTube event: In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using an encoder. Open Live Control Room and locate the stream URL and stream key. The precise interface labels may change; follow YouTube’s current encoder setup guide.
- Add your recording in OBS: Create a scene, add a Media Source, select the local video file, and enable Loop. For a rotation of recordings, add a VLC Video source, select the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist.
- Configure the connection: In OBS’s streaming settings, enter the server URL and stream key supplied by YouTube. The key acts like a password: do not share it publicly. Reset it if you believe it has been exposed.
- Start the encoder: Start streaming from OBS, then return to Live Control Room. Check the incoming preview and stream health before making the broadcast public or starting the scheduled event.
- Check audio and video: Listen to the preview, check that the picture is present, and confirm the stream is accessible as intended. Monitor the broadcast after it begins. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring in its live-stream tips.
- End deliberately when appropriate: When ending an event, stop the stream in the encoder and follow the controls in Live Control Room.
Choose settings for the connection you actually have
There is no single bitrate or resolution that fits every recording and internet connection. The suitable encoder settings depend on resolution, frame rate, and the upload capacity available where the stream runs. Test the upload connection and select a stable bitrate that it can sustain; YouTube recommends RTMPS and testing the stream before relying on it. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance rather than copying a fixed number without matching it to your output.

- Test the stream privately or in an appropriate test setup before announcing a 24/7 launch.
- Watch the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators, and listen for missing or distorted audio.
- Use a local recording if you need a reliable copy independent of the platform’s archive.
Plan separately for continuous availability and replay
A continuous live endpoint does not guarantee one complete replay file. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube also notes that DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. For details, see Archive live streams and Turn on DVR on live streams.
If preserving a complete program matters, keep a local archive and test how your organization will store and retrieve it. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish a supported seamless daily auto-restart method, so do not depend on an assumed restart schedule to produce complete archives.

Understand copyright and monetization separately
Copyright can interrupt a live feed
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the picture with a placeholder or interrupt or terminate the stream. Even a licensed owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist; having permission does not itself guarantee that automated matching will not interrupt a broadcast. Check YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Monetization is conditional, especially for repeated recordings
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels may have live ads, Super Chat or Super Stickers, and memberships available, but access and earnings are not guaranteed; ad delivery depends on YouTube’s systems and other factors. YouTube’s July 15, 2025 policy update renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible for monetization. That does not establish that every prayer stream is automatically disqualified—or automatically eligible. Build the channel around distinctive, original ministry content and review the current channel monetization policies before relying on revenue from a repeated recording.
