Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →First check which OBS counter is increasing. Encoding lag or rendering lag points to work your computer cannot finish on time; reduce output resolution or frame rate, simplify the scene, and limit competing GPU use. If OBS instead shows rising dropped frames with a yellow or red connection indicator, investigate your upload connection and bitrate. Those problems have different causes, so changing bitrate alone will not fix every “encoder overloaded” warning.
For a 24/7 aarti stream, make one change at a time and test it with the real audio and representative movement before leaving the stream unattended. The title alone cannot identify the cause: the OBS version, computer, encoder, settings, Stats data, and YouTube stream-health message all matter.
Identify what is actually failing
When the warning appears, open OBS’s Stats window and note which counter rises. Also check the OBS log for that period and the exact message in YouTube Live Control Room. OBS distinguishes network-dropped frames from encoding performance problems; YouTube separately reports ingest issues such as bitrate, frame rate, keyframe interval, codec, or insufficient incoming video.
- Skipped frames due to encoding lag: OBS is not completing encoding work on time.
- Frames missed due to rendering lag: OBS is struggling to compose the scene before encoding it.
- Dropped frames and a yellow or red connection indicator: the connection to the streaming server is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate.
- A YouTube stream-health warning: use the specific health message; it may be an ingest configuration or incoming-video problem, not local OBS overload.
OBS identifies GPU overload or a bottleneck between the GPU and the rest of the system as possible causes of performance trouble: OBS encoding performance troubleshooting. Its guidance on dropped frames explains the connection indicator: OBS stream connection troubleshooting.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Fix encoding or rendering lag
If Stats shows encoding or rendering lag, reduce the workload on the computer before changing network settings. The best setting depends on the hardware, scene, encoder, and acceptable picture quality; no one value can be prescribed without those details.
- Lower output resolution. In OBS, open Settings → Video and reduce the Output (Scaled) Resolution. If necessary, also reduce the base canvas resolution to match a simpler scene. Lower resolution reduces the work required to render and encode each frame.
- Try 30 fps instead of 60 fps. In Settings → Video, reduce Common FPS Values to 30. OBS specifically recommends trying 30 fps when 60 fps is not working. A largely static devotional image may not need 60 fps, though the right choice depends on what is shown.
- Simplify the scene. Remove sources the viewer does not need, especially unnecessary browser sources, animated overlays, and other costly elements. Turn off or remove filters that are not essential.
- Free up GPU resources. Close other programs doing substantial graphics work, then check whether the same OBS counter improves.
- On Windows, try running OBS as administrator. This is an OBS troubleshooting step, not a guarantee that every overload has the same cause.
Change one item at a time and watch the same counter. That makes it possible to tell whether a change addressed the bottleneck or merely altered picture quality.

Fix network dropped frames
If the dropped-frames counter rises while the connection square is yellow or red, test the connection to the internet and choose a bitrate the upload can sustain reliably. A speed-test result is not a guarantee of stable upload capacity for a continuous stream, so avoid setting bitrate at the connection’s apparent ceiling. If the current bitrate is too high for the stable upload available, lower it and observe whether dropped frames stop increasing.
YouTube likewise advises selecting a reliable stream quality for the available internet connection. Its recommendations are not a substitute for diagnosing whether OBS is overloaded locally. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

Check YouTube’s ingest settings and health message
Read the exact YouTube Live Control Room stream-health message before making a configuration change. YouTube documents distinct issues involving high or low bitrate, high frame rate, long keyframe intervals, unsupported codec or resolution, and video starvation. Each points to a different adjustment; a generic “overloaded” label does not identify which one applies.
YouTube’s currently published RTMP/RTMPS guidance recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no more than four seconds apart. It supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 in the listed RTMP/RTMPS settings. For H.264, its recommended ingest bitrates include 10 Mbps for 720p at 30 or 60 fps, 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps, and 17 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps. These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not a measure of what your computer can encode or a requirement to use the highest quality for a mostly static aarti scene. Choose settings your encoder and stable upload can sustain.

Before relying on the stream, test with audio and movement similar to the intended broadcast, then monitor both OBS Stats and YouTube stream health. YouTube’s guidance is to include representative audio and movement in a preflight test and to monitor stream health and messages: YouTube live encoder settings and testing guidance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Validate the fix before leaving the stream unattended
- Start the stream with the intended audio, scene, resolution, frame rate, encoder, and bitrate.
- Let it run long enough to include the normal visual movement and audio conditions of the aarti stream.
- Watch OBS Stats for the counter that originally rose and check YouTube Live Control Room for new health messages.
- If the symptom returns, record the time, the relevant Stats values, the OBS log, and YouTube’s exact message before trying another change.
A setting that works briefly is not proof that the issue is resolved for a continuous broadcast. There is no established universal setting that eliminates warnings on an unspecified computer.

Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | Likely area to investigate | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Encoding lag rises | Local encoding performance or competing system resources | Lower resolution or frame rate, close GPU-heavy programs, and check the OBS log. |
| Rendering lag rises | Scene composition, filters, browser sources, or GPU contention | Simplify the scene and remove unnecessary sources or filters. |
| Dropped frames rise with yellow or red connection status | Unstable connection or bitrate beyond sustainable upload capacity | Check stable upload capacity and lower bitrate if needed. |
| YouTube reports an ingest or incoming-video issue | The particular setting or video condition named in the health message | Use the exact message to check bitrate, frame rate, keyframes, codec, resolution, or video arrival. |
These symptoms can look similar to a viewer, but they call for different remedies. Check the OBS and YouTube evidence before buying replacement hardware or accessories: without a confirmed hardware limit, a purchase may not address the cause.
