To accept credit-card tips for yourself, create a Streamlabs tip page and connect a supported payment account—Streamlabs’ dedicated credit-card instructions specify PayPal Business. To raise money for a nonprofit on YouTube, use YouTube Giving instead; that is a separate, eligibility-based fundraiser, not a creator tip link.
Choose the right kind of payment
First decide who should receive the money. A creator tip supports you directly; it is not automatically a charitable donation and should not be described as tax-deductible. A nonprofit fundraiser routes donations to an eligible organization through YouTube Giving. The payment route, eligibility rules, and where viewers donate differ.
- Personal tips: Use a creator tipping page such as Streamlabs’ and connect a payment option available to your account and country.
- Nonprofit fundraising on YouTube: Check YouTube Giving eligibility and attach a fundraiser to the relevant video or livestream.
The setup described here is an account, payment-provider, and link configuration task; the official instructions do not require a physical product.
Set up a Streamlabs tip page for credit cards
Streamlabs’ dedicated credit-card guide says to connect a PayPal Business account in Streamlabs tip settings. Its separate tipping guide also describes PayPal Standard, but says that option accepts PayPal only; use Business when you need the credit-card route described in its card guide. Streamlabs’ separate Stripe card option may also appear for eligible creators, but it has its own country and onboarding requirements.

- Prepare the payment account. Create or sign in to the payment account you intend to connect. For the credit-card setup in Streamlabs’ dedicated guide, use PayPal Business. Follow the provider’s current identity, business, and verification prompts; availability and requirements vary by location.
- Open the tipping settings. Sign in to the Streamlabs dashboard and select Tipping. Connect the supported payment option shown for your account. Streamlabs’ quick guide describes PayPal Business as accepting cards and Venmo in the US; PayPal Standard is PayPal-only. The specific payment methods a viewer sees depend on provider and location.
- Configure the tip page. Set the currency and minimum tip amount, choose any preset amounts you want to offer, and adjust the page design. Save your changes, then copy the tip-page URL.
- Make the link visible. Add the URL to an appropriate channel panel or channel information and include it in livestream descriptions where viewers will look for it. Streamlabs’ guide specifically covers Twitch or Kick panel links and YouTube channel information and livestream descriptions. Check the published page and link as a viewer before sharing it widely.
- Check the payment path before promoting it. Confirm that the page opens, the available payment methods match what you intend to accept, and the payment account is verified. A test of the public flow is a prudent check; the provider’s current prompts and terms determine the actual payment process.
Understand payment routes, fees, and privacy
Streamlabs says it does not take a cut of credit-card tips and describes its tip page as free. That does not mean payment processing is free: the connected processor may charge fees. For PayPal Business tipping, Streamlabs says payments go directly from the donor to the creator through PayPal rather than being held by Streamlabs. PayPal may sometimes require the account owner to accept a payment manually.
Streamlabs’ Stripe Tipping FAQ, dated October 20, 2025, lists a standard card-processing fee of 2.9% plus US$0.30 and says the rate varies by streamer and donor country. It lists a 2% currency-exchange fee when a donor pays in a currency other than the onboarding currency. Treat these as the FAQ’s published terms, not a universal or guaranteed current rate; check the terms shown in your account and the processor’s terms before enabling the option.

Stripe eligibility and chargebacks
The same FAQ names these supported streamer countries for its Stripe card option: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It says the creator must be at least 18 and describes checking-account and identity-verification requirements. If your country is not listed, Streamlabs says to use another available payment option. Confirm availability in your current account because country support and processor terms can change.
Streamlabs also warns that Stripe card tips can be charged back. Its FAQ describes a US$15 chargeback fee in addition to the original amount being deducted; the US$15 is returned if the chargeback is won. It says creators must submit evidence promptly. Keep appropriate records and review the processor’s current dispute instructions.

What donors may see
Payment providers may display merchant details on a donor’s card statement under their own rules. Streamlabs recommends using a PO box or business address to avoid a personal address appearing, but that is not a guarantee that every bank statement will omit personal details. Review the provider’s account and privacy settings before accepting payments.
Use YouTube Giving for an eligible nonprofit
YouTube Giving is the relevant route when the intended recipient is an eligible nonprofit, not the creator. YouTube Help says creator setup requires a channel based in an available location, at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, and a channel not designated as made for kids. YouTube notes that some channels may see fundraising outside those criteria, so check your own YouTube Studio rather than assuming eligibility. Regional restrictions apply.

- Check eligibility and availability. In YouTube Studio, look for the fundraising option on your channel and confirm that your channel and nonprofit qualify in your location.
- Attach the fundraiser. Add the fundraiser to eligible content or a livestream. For donations through live chat, the fundraiser must be attached to the livestream and live chat must be enabled.
- Tell viewers where to donate. Eligible fundraisers can show a Donate button on a video or live stream. With Live Chat Donations, viewers can use the Donate button in chat. You can monitor donation activity in the Live Control Room.
- Account for other live features. YouTube says Super Chat and Super Stickers are turned off on livestreams using Live Chat Donations to avoid confusion.
YouTube says 100% of donations to an eligible nonprofit go to that nonprofit because YouTube covers credit-card transaction fees. It also says voluntary donations to nonprofits are non-refundable. These terms apply to YouTube Giving donations, not personal creator tips.

- Viewers do not see a card option: Check that you connected the payment route intended for cards—Streamlabs’ dedicated card setup specifies PayPal Business, while PayPal Standard is described as PayPal-only. Available methods also depend on country and provider prompts.
- The payment option is missing from your account: Check current country eligibility and account onboarding requirements. Streamlabs’ Stripe card option is limited to the listed countries in its FAQ; use another payment option shown in your account if yours is unsupported.
- The tip link is unavailable or wrong: Re-copy the saved tip-page URL from Streamlabs and update the channel panel, channel information, or description. Open the published link while signed out or in a viewer context to verify it.
- A PayPal payment appears pending: Streamlabs says PayPal may sometimes require the account owner to accept a payment manually. Check the PayPal account for the current status and required action.
- A donor disputes a Stripe card tip: Follow the processor’s current dispute process and submit requested evidence promptly. Review the applicable fee and deduction terms in Streamlabs’ current Stripe FAQ and account.
- You cannot add a YouTube nonprofit fundraiser: Check location, channel eligibility, nonprofit availability, and whether you are in the appropriate Studio flow. YouTube says some channels may see fundraising outside the stated criteria, so the channel’s own Studio is the best eligibility check.
