1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYouTube Live Redirect can send viewers from an ended live stream to a Premiere or another channel’s live stream. It does not, based on the official guidance available here, establish an automatic way to rotate a 24/7 playlist through separate live events. Plan the handoff as a stream-by-stream operation, confirm the destination is eligible and available, and test the exact sequence before relying on it.
What Live Redirect does—and what it does not establish
YouTube’s documented Live Redirect feature is configured for a source live stream and takes effect after that stream ends. YouTube says autoplay moves viewers to the selected Premiere or live stream. In its Help guidance, YouTube describes the feature this way: “After your live stream ends, you can send your audience to a Premiere or another live stream.”
That is an end-of-stream handoff, not a documented playlist-rotation scheduler. The official guidance covered here does not confirm that YouTube will automatically move viewers from one scheduled live event to the next event on the same channel, nor that separate events can be chained into a seamless, unattended 24/7 broadcast. Treat both as unverified until you test the specific setup in your channel.
Choose and validate the destination for each handoff
Start with the boundary, not the playlist: identify the source stream that will end, the destination you want viewers to reach, and whether that destination is a Premiere or another channel’s live stream.

| Destination | When it fits | Dependency to check |
|---|---|---|
| Premiere | A prepared video event you want viewers to watch after the source stream. | YouTube advises setting up the Premiere before setting up the live stream. Confirm it is the intended and available destination for the planned handoff. |
| Another channel’s live stream | A cross-channel handoff to a live broadcast. | The destination channel must allow redirects from your channel. Confirm the stream is available as a selectable target when configuring the source. |
| Another scheduled event on your own channel | Potentially useful for a planned rotation, but not established by the official guidance covered here. | Do not assume it is a supported redirect target or that it will start automatically. Validate availability and the complete sequence in your actual setup. |
A creator sending redirects must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes, according to YouTube’s current eligibility guidance. For a redirect to another channel’s live stream, that channel must permit redirects from the sending channel. YouTube’s permission guidance allows up to 100 channels on the manual redirect permission list.
Configure a redirect for the source stream
- Confirm eligibility. Check that the channel sending the redirect meets YouTube’s subscriber and Community Guideline strike requirements.
- Prepare the destination. For a Premiere, set it up before setting up the live stream. For another channel’s live stream, ask the destination channel to allow redirects from yours and check that the intended stream is available as a target.
- Open the source stream in YouTube Studio. Configure Live Redirect on the stream that is going to end. Select the intended Premiere or live-stream destination from the choices YouTube makes available.
- Tell viewers what to expect. For a Premiere handoff, YouTube advises telling viewers to wait a few seconds for the screen to reload after the source ends.
- Test the handoff. Check the end of the source stream, the destination selection, and what viewers see after the transition. Do not treat a successful test as proof that a different event, encoder, or playlist configuration will behave identically.
The available official guidance identifies YouTube Studio as the place to configure the source stream’s redirect, but does not establish a reliable automatic chain between separate same-channel events. If your intended next event is not offered as a target, do not assume there is an alternate setting that will make the chain work.

Schedule and operate encoder-based streams carefully
Scheduling a stream in YouTube and sending the live feed through an encoder are separate parts of the workflow. YouTube’s encoder guidance uses a YouTube Live server URL and stream key; scheduling also gives viewers a watch URL they can share and lets them set reminders.
- Schedule the event in YouTube Live Control Room. Set up the event and its metadata, then note its watch page so you can confirm viewers can access it.
- Configure the encoder. Enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key for that event. Keep the key private; use the key associated with the intended stream.
- Allow preparation time. YouTube recommends setting up encoders at least two hours before an event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes beforehand. These are preparation recommendations, not a promise of uninterrupted service.
- Preview and verify access. Inspect the encoder preview, check that the event is accessible to its intended audience, and monitor audio and video quality.
- Test the boundary. If separate scheduled events are meant to form a rotation, test how the source ends, whether the next event is available, and what viewers experience during the change. The official guidance covered here does not describe a guaranteed seamless, no-gap rollover.
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not infer from that statement what happens to streams lasting 12 hours or longer; the cited guidance does not establish it.

Plan a 24/7 rotation as an operational sequence
For each planned changeover, write down the source event, its expected end, the intended destination, who is responsible for confirming that destination, and the result of a test. This is an operating plan—not a claim that YouTube provides automatic playlist-to-event rotation.
- Use a Premiere when the next destination is a prepared video event and follow YouTube’s Premiere-before-live setup advice.
- Use another channel’s live stream for a cross-channel handoff only after its channel has permitted redirects and the stream is available as a target.
- For a same-channel next event, first verify that YouTube offers it as a redirect destination in your account. The official guidance covered here does not confirm that it does.
- Check the watch page and preview before the handoff, then observe what actually happens when the source ends.
- Do not promise viewers an uninterrupted transition unless your exact event and encoder arrangement has been tested and you can operate it reliably.
Troubleshoot a redirect that does not work as expected
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Live Redirect is unavailable | Confirm the sending channel has more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. |
| The other channel’s stream is not selectable | Ask that channel to permit redirects from yours, then confirm the intended stream is available as a target. |
| Your next same-channel event is missing | Do not assume same-channel scheduled events are supported redirect targets. The official guidance covered here does not establish that capability. |
| Viewers do not arrive at the expected destination | Verify the redirect configured on the source stream, destination availability, and the end-to-destination sequence in a test. For a Premiere, tell viewers to wait a few seconds for the screen to reload. |
| The scheduled stream is not visible or ready | Check the event’s watch-page accessibility, server URL, stream key, encoder preview, and audio/video monitoring. |
| There is a gap between separate events | The guidance covered here does not promise seamless rollover. Test the specific event and encoder setup and plan for the boundary rather than assuming automatic continuity. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo offers a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay running on a home computer or connection. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it is not a camera-based live production tool, and its looping service should not be confused with YouTube’s documented redirect between ended streams and destinations.
