How to choose without overbuying
- Estimate your library. Count the videos you want to rotate and check the storage allowance on the plan. For StreamNeo, storage is 10 GB per slot and pooled across active slots.
- Decide whether you need unattended cloud operation. If a computer cannot stay online reliably, prioritize a cloud continuous-stream service. If you already have dependable hardware and can monitor it, a local encoder may reduce subscription spending.
- Check the operating limits that affect your setup. Confirm the current number of concurrent streams, supported resolution, playlist looping, scheduling, and destination support. Plan limits can change; verify them on the provider’s current page before purchase.
- Decide how you will preserve a replay. YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a complete replay matters, arrange separate local recording or use shorter sessions.
- Run an unlisted test. Check that the intended playlist loops, audio and video play correctly, and your YouTube stream appears as expected before making the stream public.
Rights, reused content, and monetization
A streaming service does not grant permission to broadcast the files you upload. YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the necessary worldwide rights for live content, including music rights. Permission alone does not guarantee monetization eligibility. YouTube assesses reused content at the channel level, and minimally changed third-party material may fail its policy even when you have permission. YouTube says, “We want to reward creators for original and ‘authentic’ content that adds value to viewers.” See its channel monetization policies.
Eligible channels may enable live-stream monetization, but ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. A 24/7 stream is a distribution format, not a promise of views, watch time, subscribers, or income.

Costs and operational tradeoffs
Cloud service
A cloud service adds a recurring cost, but the provider runs the stream rather than your home computer. Compare the price with the included number of streams, storage, resolution, playlist automation, and recovery behavior. A small channel should pay for the capacity it will actually use, not assume a higher tier will produce more viewers.
Local encoder
A local workflow can avoid a cloud automation subscription, but it is not cost-free to operate: the computer must remain on, the internet connection and power must stay available, and someone must handle failures. Include those burdens when comparing total cost, especially if you cannot monitor the stream.

Browser production studio
A hosted studio can be useful for scheduled programs with guests and production features. Check its prerecorded-stream duration allowance before treating it as a 24/7 looping service; a two-hour allowance, such as the one StreamYard lists for Core, does not by itself meet an all-day continuous-stream requirement.

- The stream stops when you leave: a local encoder depends on the computer and its connection. Keep the machine and encoder running, verify power and network stability, or use a cloud continuous-stream service.
- The playlist does not repeat as expected: check the service’s current playlist and looping controls, then test the sequence in an unlisted stream before going public.
- The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete: YouTube may not capture a stream that exceeds 12 hours. Keep a separate recording or split the broadcast into shorter sessions if you need an archive.
- A stream is interrupted: identify whether the issue is the local encoder, connection, or YouTube ingest, then check the stream status and resume or reconnect using the configured stream key. For a cloud service, confirm its documented recovery behavior and account status.
- A video receives a rights claim or affects monetization: review the rights for each audio and visual element and YouTube’s channel-level reused-content requirements; a streaming tool cannot resolve either issue.
