Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo add a viewer count to OBS, use a Streamlabs widget URL as a Browser Source, or install the Streamlabs plugin and add its Viewer Count source. Streamlabs Desktop has a built-in Viewer Count source. The URL method works in OBS without the plugin and in other software that supports browser sources; which platforms the widget can count depends on the options currently shown in your Streamlabs Dashboard.
Choose how to add the viewer count
| Route | Best fit | What you add |
|---|---|---|
| Browser Source URL | OBS users who do not want the Streamlabs plugin, and users of other compatible streaming software | A Streamlabs widget URL in a Browser Source |
| Streamlabs plugin | OBS users who want to add the widget from the Streamlabs menu | The Viewer Count source through the plugin |
| Built-in source | People streaming with Streamlabs Desktop | A Viewer Count source from Sources |
Streamlabs documents all three routes. Its help guide lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and Trovo, while its Viewer Counter product page lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Kick. Because the official pages differ, check the platform toggles in your own Dashboard before relying on Trovo support. (Streamlabs setup guide; Viewer Counter page)
Add the widget to OBS with a Browser Source
This method loads the widget as a webpage in your OBS scene. It does not require the Streamlabs plugin.
- Open the widget settings: Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and go to All Widgets → Viewer Count.
- Choose platforms and appearance: Select the platforms you want included using the available toggles. Adjust font style, size, weight, and color; custom HTML and CSS controls are also available.
- Copy the widget URL: Copy the URL provided by the Dashboard. Treat it as the address for your widget and paste it into the source in the next step.
- Add a Browser Source in OBS: Select the scene where the count should appear, add a Browser source, and paste the widget URL into its URL field.
- Set the viewport and placement: Set the source width and height to fit the widget, then position and resize it in the scene. The OBS Browser Source defaults to an 800 Ă— 600 viewport; that is an OBS default, not a Streamlabs widget requirement.
- Check the result: Confirm the source is visible in the scene and the URL and dimensions are correct. If it does not appear or update, use the source’s refresh controls as described below.
OBS describes Browser Source as “one of the most versatile sources available in OBS.” Its properties include a URL, viewport dimensions, custom frame rate, custom CSS, page permissions, and cache refresh controls. OBS documents a default custom FPS of 30; this is a Browser Source default, not a required widget frame rate. (OBS Project Browser Source documentation)

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Add the widget with the Streamlabs plugin in OBS
- Install the Streamlabs plugin and log in.
- In OBS, open the Streamlabs navigation menu and select Viewer Count.
- Click +Add. The source is added to the current scene.
- Move and resize the source to place it. To adjust widget settings later, use the source’s Settings route to return to the Dashboard.
This route depends on having the plugin installed and signed in. If you prefer not to use it, add the widget URL as a Browser Source instead. (Streamlabs setup guide)
Add the source in Streamlabs Desktop
- In Sources, click + Add Source.
- Choose Viewer Count and add the source.
- Adjust its visual settings and click Done.
- Drag and resize the source in the scene.
This is the direct route if you already use Streamlabs Desktop; it does not require manually adding a Browser Source URL. (Streamlabs setup guide)

Customize the count without overcomplicating the scene
The Streamlabs guide documents platform selection, font style, size, weight, color, and custom HTML/CSS. Start with a readable font and color contrast against the video, then adjust the source dimensions and placement in the scene so it does not cover important content. Streamlabs says unique themes are exclusive to Streamlabs Ultra subscribers; its guide does not say that an Ultra subscription is required for basic widget setup. (Streamlabs setup guide)
Troubleshoot a missing or stale viewer count
- Nothing appears: Verify that the copied widget URL is in the Browser Source URL field, the source is visible in the selected scene, and the viewport dimensions can accommodate the widget.
- The widget appears blank or looks outdated: Refresh the Browser Source cache. OBS also offers options to refresh the source when its scene becomes active.
- The source stops updating when hidden: Check whether Unload source when hidden is enabled. OBS lists this as a Browser Source option; behavior may differ if the source is unloaded while its scene is inactive.
- A platform is missing from the count options: Check the platform toggles in your Dashboard. Streamlabs’ support and product pages disagree about Trovo, so do not assume it is available based on the help guide alone.
- You are using the plugin: Confirm that you are logged in and selected Viewer Count under the Streamlabs menu in OBS. If plugin setup is getting in the way, the URL route avoids that dependency.
OBS lists Browser Source availability for Windows and macOS, and Linux through official packages. Its documented controls include refreshing the cache, unloading hidden sources, and refreshing a source when its scene becomes active. (OBS Project Browser Source documentation)

Or let it run in the cloud
A viewer count widget is a scene overlay; it does not keep a YouTube stream live by itself. If your goal is to keep uploaded video looping on YouTube while your computer is off, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for that job. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed. Start the free first day.
