To create a scheduled YouTube Live stream from several prerecorded videos in Restream, open Pre-recorded livestream > Playlist, add and arrange the files, preview the result, then schedule it with YouTube selected as a destination. Restream says the playlist starts automatically at its scheduled time.
Before you build the playlist
This creates one scheduled livestream made from prerecorded video files. It does not create a regular YouTube playlist of separately uploaded videos. Restream’s Playlist feature is for prerecorded content; it cannot mix those files with a live presenter in the same playlist. See Restream’s Playlist guide.
- Plan: Restream’s guide says Playlist requires an Upload & Stream add-on tier: Marathon or Media. Its July 25, 2026 guide lists Marathon at $79/month, with four hours of video library and a maximum resolution of 1080p; Media is listed at $239/month, with 12 hours of video library and a maximum resolution of 4K. These are Restream-listed plan details and can change, so check the current plan page before purchasing.
- Playlist limits: The same guide allows up to 40 videos and a maximum total playlist length of 24 hours.
- YouTube channel: Connect the correct channel and make sure live streaming is enabled. Restream says first-time activation requires phone verification and then a 24-hour wait. Allow for that before scheduling your first event.
- Event details: Restream states YouTube’s title limit is 100 characters and its description limit is 5,000 characters. Check current YouTube requirements if you are preparing an event well in advance.

Create and schedule the playlist
- Open the playlist workflow. From the Restream home screen, choose Pre-recorded livestream, then Playlist.
- Add the videos. Select files already available in Restream or upload video files, then click Next.
- Set the sequence. Drag and drop the videos into the order you want them to play. Add more files or a countdown if needed.
- Customize and preview. Apply available designs, captions, or QR codes, then preview the playlist so you can catch ordering or presentation issues before it airs.
- Schedule the event. Select Schedule, choose the event date and time, and select YouTube among the destinations. Complete the event details and YouTube settings, then create or schedule the event. Restream’s broader YouTube event guide also describes a New Stream flow with Playlist as a stream type; the dedicated playlist path is the direct option for assembling multiple files.
- Let the scheduled start happen. Restream says a scheduled playlist begins automatically at its event time. Its scheduling guide notes that some other connected platforms may need a manual start, so do not assume the same start behavior for every destination.
Review changes and YouTube-specific cautions
Finish edits before the stream starts
Before going live, you can add, remove, or reorder the videos. Once the playlist is airing, Restream says edits are limited to graphics and chat, so verify the full sequence and preview beforehand.

Do not start the event early
Restream says a YouTube event created through its workflow can be used once. For the scheduled playlist flow, do not click Go Live before the scheduled time; follow the scheduling steps and allow the playlist to start automatically.
Check rights and channel eligibility
Use video and audio you have permission to stream, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and live-streaming rules for your channel and material. Restream’s workflow does not grant rights to footage or music, and the available instructions do not establish that a playlist is exempt from YouTube’s policies.

Common problems and fixes
- You cannot find Playlist or cannot schedule it: Check whether your account has the Upload & Stream add-on tier Restream lists as eligible (Marathon or Media), and confirm current feature availability in your account.
- YouTube is missing or will not connect: Confirm that you authorized the intended channel and that live streaming is enabled. If this is the channel’s first activation, complete phone verification and allow the stated 24-hour wait before relying on a scheduled event.
- The playlist is too long or has too many files: Restream’s guide sets a 24-hour total duration and 40-video maximum. Remove files or split the material into separate scheduled events.
- The order or a video is wrong after the stream begins: Restream says videos can no longer be added, removed, or reordered once the playlist is live. Stop and correct the setup for a future event; during the active stream, only graphics and chat are editable.
- You need a presenter to join between prerecorded segments: Playlist cannot blend prerecorded files with live content. Restream suggests using videos in Studio when both prerecorded and live elements are needed; that is a different workflow.
- The scheduled event does not start as expected: Check that you scheduled the event with YouTube selected and did not start it early. Restream describes automatic start for scheduled prerecorded playlists, but says other connected platforms may differ.
