That means watch time from Premium members in India can contribute to earnings on an eligible live stream, but YouTube’s published guidance does not give an India-specific rate, per-view payment or country-weighting formula. A 24/7 schedule does not guarantee higher earnings.
How Premium earnings relate to a 24/7 live stream
YouTube describes Premium revenue as a share of membership revenue distributed to creators according to how much Premium members watch their content. The published explanation does not define a fixed payment for each view. A view count alone therefore cannot establish what a stream earned.
Live-streaming videos can earn Watch Page Premium revenue. To monetize long-form or live-streaming Watch Page content this way, a creator must be eligible and accept YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module. A stream’s continuous operation does not bypass those requirements or create a special Premium allocation rule.
For a 24/7 stream, time on air is not itself the stated payout measure. The relevant factor in YouTube’s explanation is Premium-member watch time. A longer-running broadcast may create more opportunity for people to watch, but its duration alone does not show how many Premium members watched or what revenue resulted.

How much do YouTube Premium views pay in India?
YouTube’s public Premium guidance does not state an India-specific RPM, per-view rate or formula for weighting viewing by country. It also does not explain how country-level subscription prices, taxes or regional pools affect an individual creator’s share. Do not multiply Indian Premium views by an assumed fixed rate or claim that an Indian view pays more or less than a view from another country without authoritative evidence for that comparison.
YouTube says Premium membership revenue is distributed based on member watch time. Its guidance also notes that background playback counts toward watch time, and downloaded playback counts when the Premium member next signs in online. As a result, real-time concurrent viewers are not necessarily the only watch time reflected in reporting.

Keep Premium revenue separate from other live-stream earnings
| Revenue type | How it works | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Premium subscription revenue | YouTube’s published explanation ties distribution to how much Premium members watch eligible content. | No fixed India-specific rate or per-view payment is stated in the reviewed guidance. |
| Live-stream ads | Creators can turn on live-stream monetization and review live-stream and replay ad revenue in YouTube Analytics. | Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve an ad. |
| Fan funding | Eligible channels may use features such as Super Chat, Super Stickers and channel memberships. | These are distinct from Premium subscription revenue and depend on feature availability and channel eligibility. |
YouTube’s live monetization guidance covers ads and fan-funding features separately from Premium membership revenue. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.
Where to check your own channel’s results
- Confirm eligibility and terms. Check that your channel is eligible for the applicable YouTube monetization program and has accepted the Watch Page Monetization Module for Watch Page Premium revenue. YouTube explains the options in Choose how you want to monetize.
- Use YouTube Studio revenue reporting. YouTube’s Premium help says downloadable reports can show watch time and earnings broken down by video. Review the stream over a clearly defined period rather than inferring earnings from total views alone.
- Separate revenue categories. Compare the stream’s reported Premium-related results with live and replay ad revenue and fan-funding results where available. They arise through different mechanisms.
- Avoid treating a short period as a guaranteed rate. The public guidance does not provide a calculator that converts Indian views into a guaranteed payout. Channel reports show reported results, not a universal India-wide price per view.
YouTube also says its Partner Program agreement does not guarantee how much—or whether—a creator will be paid. Read YouTube’s partner earnings overview.

Announced Premium terms taking effect in 2027
In a 2026 announcement, YouTube said that from February 1, 2027, creators will share in a pool representing 30% of net subscription revenue for Premium views and a pool representing 60% of net subscription revenue for Premium Lite. These are announced pool shares, not per-view rates or guaranteed individual creator earnings. YouTube said creators should accept updated terms by January 31, 2027 to continue fully monetizing.
