If your YouTube channel is based in India, the documented YouTube Giving fundraiser setup is currently unavailable: India is not on YouTube’s published list of creator locations for the feature. If you run a 24/7 stream, you can still check your account’s Studio interface, but don’t announce a YouTube Giving campaign unless the fundraiser option is available for your channel and the stream you intend to use.
Can an India-based channel use YouTube Giving?
Based on YouTube’s published creator-location list, India is not currently a supported location for setting up YouTube Giving fundraisers. The feature also has other eligibility requirements: a channel generally needs at least 10,000 subscribers, must be in the YouTube Partner Program, and must not be designated Made for Kids. Check YouTube’s YouTube Giving eligibility and setup guidance for the current rules before planning a campaign.
Google says creators who are not eligible can consider third-party fundraising sites. That is a separate route, not an integration with YouTube Giving. Confirm directly with any platform and intended charity that an India-based organizer can fundraise, that donations can be presented or linked appropriately during a continuous stream, and that payment methods, fees, donor-country rules, and disbursement timing work for your campaign. Google’s YouTube Giving information for nonprofits identifies third-party sites as an alternative, but does not establish those platform-specific details.
What eligible channels need before setup
- A supported channel location: the creator’s channel must be based in a location where YouTube Giving is available.
- Channel eligibility: at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, and no Made for Kids designation, according to current YouTube and Google help documentation reviewed in 2026.
- An eligible charity: the documented program supports qualifying US public charities with 501(c)(3) status and required registrations or opt-ins. Non-US charities are not directly eligible under the documented setup.
- A scheduled livestream in Studio: YouTube’s published workflow describes adding a scheduled live stream. It does not document a special setup for one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast.
How an eligible creator adds a fundraiser to a scheduled livestream
- Sign in to YouTube Studio. Confirm that the channel meets the location and account requirements before preparing campaign materials.
- Open Earn > Giving. Choose Get started > Create a fundraiser.
- Choose the nonprofit. Select an available eligible US 501(c)(3) public charity. If it is not listed, use the nonprofit request flow; Google says a request can take up to five business days.
- Enter the campaign details. Add the fundraiser title and description, and set a goal and duration if those options suit the campaign.
- Add the scheduled livestream. Select the live stream that should display the fundraiser, then review the selection in Studio before publishing.
- Publish and verify the display. YouTube says the donate button appears after the fundraiser start date, on the video watch page or in live chat. You can also look for fundraiser setup in Live Control Room under Advanced Settings.
What changes for a 24/7 livestream?
YouTube’s public instructions explain how to attach a scheduled livestream, but do not say whether one continuous 24/7 stream is supported in that flow or whether the stream must be scheduled or restarted in a particular way. Do not assume that a fundraiser attached to one scheduled event will remain attached to an uninterrupted broadcast indefinitely. Open the exact stream in Live Control Room and confirm the fundraiser controls and display before you promote the campaign. The published material does not establish an exception for India-based channels.

Donation display, chat, and monetization limits
- Donations can appear on the watch page or in live chat; the donate button appears only after the fundraiser start date.
- Live-chat donations require live chat to be enabled. On mobile, viewers may need to view the stream in portrait orientation to see chat.
- For a live stream using Live Chat Donations, YouTube disables Super Chat and Super Stickers. Ads are not affected, while Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.
- YouTube says 100% of contributions go to the nonprofit and that YouTube pays transaction fees. Its help material names Network for Good as the donation collection and disbursement partner.
Keeping the documentary stream online
A fundraiser is separate from the tool that plays your documentary on YouTube. For a do-it-yourself broadcast, use YouTube’s own live setup, schedule the event in Studio, and keep the streaming computer and its internet connection running for the full broadcast. Check the scheduled stream in Live Control Room before going live; if your stream is continuous, verify how the fundraiser is attached rather than assuming the documented scheduled-stream workflow covers it.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo does not set up a YouTube Giving fundraiser or establish whether a continuous stream is eligible for one; confirm that in Studio. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.

- Confirm the fundraiser is attached to the exact scheduled stream and that the donate control appears after its start date.
- For a continuous 24/7 broadcast, get confirmation in Studio about the actual stream configuration before advertising a donation button.
