Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIn Streamlabs Desktop, first check whether your installed version offers a playlist-capable VLC video source. If it does, inspect that source’s properties for repeat or loop controls; their availability and labels are not verified for every build. If it does not, play the playlist in a separate desktop media player and capture that app’s audio in Streamlabs. Test the result before going live.
First, make sure you are using Streamlabs Desktop
Streamlabs Desktop and Talk Studio are different products. Streamlabs’ documented instructions for repeating background audio apply to Talk Studio, not Streamlabs Desktop. Desktop documentation covers adding sources and configuring audio, but does not confirm a universal playlist-repeat workflow or exact loop-control labels.
That distinction matters: a guide for Talk Studio should not be treated as a set of Streamlabs Desktop clicks. Check the version installed on your computer and use the route below that its available sources support.
Check for a playlist-capable source in your Desktop build
- In Streamlabs Desktop, open the scene where you want the playlist to appear or play.
- Inspect the available source types for a VLC video source or another source that accepts multiple media files.
- If you find one, add the files and inspect that source’s properties for playlist order and repeat or loop controls. The exact availability, names, and behavior are version-dependent and are not confirmed in the official Desktop instructions cited here.
- If the source is not available or does not offer the controls you need, use an external media player and capture its audio instead.
A community report describes using a VLC source in Streamlabs Desktop, but it is anecdotal; it does not establish that the source or a particular loop setting is available in every current build.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Fallback: play the list in a separate media player
- Open your preferred desktop media player and start the playlist there. Set its own playlist order and repeat behavior before testing.
- In Streamlabs Desktop, add or configure Application Audio Capture and select the media player. Streamlabs’ audio-routing guidance describes this capture method.
- Check the mixer while audio is playing. The relevant audio meter should respond; Streamlabs’ quick-start guide recommends checking meters during the pre-stream check.
- Make a short test recording or private test stream. Listen for silence, duplicate audio, abrupt stops between tracks, and whether the playlist repeats as intended.
Prevent echoes from capturing the same audio twice
If Application Audio Capture is picking up the player, check whether Desktop Audio is also capturing it. Streamlabs advises disabling Desktop Audio when using Application Audio Capture to avoid echoes. Do not disable a source you still need for other audio without first checking your scene’s routing.
If you meant Talk Studio
For Talk Studio, Streamlabs documents this workflow: open Share, choose Background Audio, then select a track; one selected track loops automatically. To repeat or shuffle a queue of multiple files, use the queue’s repeat or shuffle option. These are Talk Studio controls and do not prove that Streamlabs Desktop has matching controls.

Why the playlist may stop or sound wrong
- No repeat control is visible: The installed Desktop build may not expose a suitable playlist source. Use the external-player route or inspect the source properties if your version includes one.
- The meter does not move: Confirm the playlist is playing and that Application Audio Capture is pointed at the correct player. Recheck the mixer before streaming.
- You hear an echo: The player may be captured by both Application Audio Capture and Desktop Audio. Check the routing and avoid duplicate capture.
- One track plays, then stops: Verify repeat is enabled in the playlist-capable source or external player. Test the transition and repeat behavior in a recording or private stream.
- The stream has audio but no visible video: Audio capture routes sound; it does not by itself put the player’s video on the canvas. If the audience needs to see video, use a suitable visual source and test it separately.
