Can I Loop the Same Yoga Video on YouTube Live All Day?

You can stream a prerecorded yoga video on YouTube Live all day, but the viewer Loop button will not do it. Here are the setup, rights, reliability, and archive considerations.

Yes. You can broadcast a prerecorded yoga video continuously as a YouTube Live stream, but you need to send it to YouTube through an encoder or a cloud streaming service. The Loop control on an ordinary YouTube video only repeats playback for an individual viewer; it does not create a livestream.

Before you start, confirm your channel can livestream and that you have the rights to rebroadcast both the yoga video and its music. Also plan for a local recording if you need to preserve the entire broadcast: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.

What “looping a yoga video on YouTube Live” means

A YouTube Live broadcast is a video feed sent from an encoder to YouTube. The source can be prerecorded footage that repeats. This is different from opening a regular YouTube upload and selecting Loop: that viewer-side control repeats playback for the person watching, but does not turn the upload into a live event. See YouTube’s Loop videos or playlists on YouTube and its encoder setup guide.

For an unattended all-day stream, choose either a local encoder workflow or a cloud service designed to continuously stream prerecorded videos. YouTube’s encoder help lists software and hardware encoder options and names Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded streaming. YouTube describes listed encoders as products it does not make; its listing is not an independent assessment of a vendor’s service.

Before you stream: eligibility, rights, and archive planning

Check that livestreaming is enabled

YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the past 90 days, and that a creator must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable and verify access before the day you want to broadcast. Consult Get started with live streaming for current eligibility details.

Confirm rights to the video and music

You must have the necessary rights to use the live and archived content, including music licensing rights. Having a copy of a yoga video, or being able to watch it, does not itself grant permission to rebroadcast it. Check permissions for the instruction, footage, and every music track before going live. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for rights on the content provider.

Do not rely on YouTube to archive an all-day broadcast

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping the full session matters, make and retain a local recording as a backup; do not treat the YouTube replay as a guaranteed complete copy. Details are in Archive live streams.

Option 1: Loop the video with an encoder on your computer

A local encoder sends the video and audio to YouTube. It gives you direct control over the broadcast, but the computer, encoder, and internet connection need to remain available for the stream to continue.

  1. Enable livestreaming. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and complete any channel verification or activation steps. Allow up to 24 hours if this is your first activation.
  2. Prepare the source. Use a video file you are authorized to rebroadcast. In your encoder, set the prerecorded video to repeat or add it repeatedly to a playlist, depending on the encoder’s controls. Confirm the audio also loops cleanly and that the transition between the end and beginning is acceptable.
  3. Get the connection details. In the Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream and copy its stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast. YouTube explains the connection process in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  4. Choose compatible output settings. Match the encoder’s resolution and frame rate to the source and the upload connection. YouTube publishes encoder settings and bitrate guidance in Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Avoid selecting a bitrate your connection cannot sustain; leave capacity for normal network variation.
  5. Test before the planned start. Start a test stream, inspect the Live Control Room preview, and check picture, audio level, loop transition, and stream health. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring and advises having 20% extra upload capacity beyond the stream’s bitrate. Its YouTube live streaming tips and Streaming tips cover network and reliability practices.
  6. Start and monitor the broadcast. Start the encoder, confirm the incoming feed appears in the Live Control Room, and then go live as required by your encoder and YouTube workflow. Use RTMPS where supported; YouTube recommends it as a secure extension of RTMP.
  7. Record locally if the full session must be kept. Enable a local recording in the encoder or use another authorized recording method. Confirm storage capacity for the intended duration, especially for an all-day stream.

Option 2: Use a cloud service for continuous prerecorded streaming

A cloud service can run the broadcast without relying on a computer at home to stay switched on. You still need to configure the stream, provide an authorized video, and check the YouTube preview and health. Compare services on whether they support looping prerecorded video, their controls and recovery behavior, their current terms and cost, and how their quality settings work. YouTube’s listing of a service does not establish independent performance or guarantee uptime.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload your recording, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the video in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the video as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality; if YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers it. The first day is free with no card required, once per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. For a yoga channel, use only footage and music you have permission to rebroadcast.

Common problems and what to check

  • The broadcast does not appear live: Confirm livestream access is enabled, the encoder is connected to the correct stream URL and key, and the Live Control Room is receiving a signal. New channel activation may take up to 24 hours.
  • The stream disconnects or buffers: Check upload bandwidth and stability, reduce the output bitrate if necessary, and preserve the recommended 20% upload headroom. Review YouTube’s stream-health indicators and connection tips.
  • The picture or audio is missing: Check that the encoder is sending the intended source and audio track, then verify both in the Live Control Room preview before relying on the stream.
  • The video stops instead of repeating: Check the encoder’s repeat or playlist settings and test a full loop before going live. The YouTube viewer Loop control does not control an encoder’s live source.
  • The stream is not saved in full: Do not assume an all-day broadcast will be archived. YouTube warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured; preserve a local recording when completeness matters.
  • A rights claim or restriction appears: Review permissions for the yoga footage and each music track. A personal or purchased copy alone does not establish permission to rebroadcast it.

Choose the setup that fits your day

A local encoder is suitable when you want to manage the broadcast on your own computer and can keep that computer and connection running. A cloud service is the more practical fit when you need the feed to continue without leaving a home computer on. In either case, test the loop, verify channel access and rights, monitor stream health, and keep a local recording if you need a complete archive.
