Check that your YouTube channel is ready
In YouTube Studio, confirm that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and the channel has no live-streaming restriction. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so complete this well ahead of launch. Requirements and enforcement can change; check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility guidance rather than relying on an old checklist.
Prepare the videos and confirm the rights
Choose recordings you have the necessary rights to broadcast and arrange them into a playlist that can repeat cleanly. For a documentary channel, consider whether the sequence makes sense for someone joining midway through: avoid abrupt audio changes, unexplained gaps, or a loop that feels broken when it restarts.
Prerecorded video is still subject to YouTube’s live-stream policies. YouTube scans live feeds for third-party content; a match can replace or interrupt the feed, and continued use may lead to termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and resolve permissions before launch.

Choose a service built for continuous YouTube loops
Do not assume that every service for streaming prerecorded video can run unattended around the clock. Verify these capabilities for the specific service and plan you intend to use:
- Uploading prerecorded files or importing a source, plus automatic repeat or continuous playlist playback.
- YouTube as a destination, and a clear explanation of whether connection uses channel authorization or a stream URL and key.
- Operation without a local computer, plus any start and stop scheduling you need.
- Failure reporting and recovery behavior, including what happens if YouTube drops the feed.
- How long broadcasts and replay files are handled around YouTube’s 12-hour archive threshold.
- Current limits for storage, concurrent streams, resolution, and supported file formats.
- Whether the planned stream adds a useful viewing experience; looping alone does not guarantee discovery, watch hours, or monetization.

Gyre’s vendor guide also describes cloud-hosted continuous prerecorded streaming and scheduling, with the creator’s computer able to remain off. That is a description of its service, not independent evidence of uptime. Confirm its current plan limits, formats, and behavior directly before choosing it. StreamYard documents a prerecorded-streaming feature, but its available help page does not establish an equivalent always-on 24/7 cloud-loop workflow; verify that capability rather than treating it as interchangeable.
Connect the service and start the broadcast
Cloud providers may manage the YouTube broadcast through authorization or ask you to enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Follow the service’s current setup flow and verify that the broadcast appears in YouTube Studio before relying on it. For YouTube’s standard encoder workflow, the sequence is:

- In YouTube Studio, create or select the live broadcast and open the stream settings.
- Copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder or cloud service that requests them. Keep the key private; it authorizes the feed. If exposed, rotate it in YouTube Studio.
- Start sending the video feed and wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room.
- Check the preview and stream health, then use Live Control Room’s go-live control when you are ready to publish.
- Confirm the public stream is playing as expected and check the provider dashboard for its status.
YouTube documents the encoder setup and controls in its live streaming with an encoder instructions. A provider may abstract or automate some of these steps, so use its own current instructions where they differ.
Plan for long broadcasts and replays
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single uninterrupted broadcast longer than 12 hours will produce one complete replay. Ask the provider how it handles long runs, restarts, and saved segments. If a complete replay matters, plan a separate recording or replay strategy and test it before the stream begins.

Cloud operation means the broadcast does not depend on your home computer staying on; it does not, by itself, prove uninterrupted delivery. Check the YouTube preview and stream health before launch, and monitor both YouTube Studio and the provider dashboard during operation.
