NBCUniversal programming will remain on YouTube TV under a multi-year carriage arrangement. Google and NBCUniversal announced the underlying agreement on October 2, 2025, then announced a broader strategic partnership on July 27, 2026 that extended the YouTube TV relationship. The announcements protect continued access to NBCUniversal entertainment, news and sports networks, but they do not promise lower prices, publish an expiration date or make Peacock part of a standard YouTube TV membership.
What the two announcements actually say
October 2, 2025: the long-term carriage agreement
NBCUniversal and Google said they had reached a long-term agreement covering NBCUniversal’s network portfolio on YouTube TV. The announcement described multi-year carriage and also addressed Peacock distribution through YouTube Primetime Channels, NBCUniversal clips and highlights on YouTube, Universal films and television content on Google platforms, and Peacock availability across Android devices. July 27, 2026: an extension within a broader partnership
NBCUniversal and YouTube later announced a global strategic partnership that extended NBCUniversal’s multi-year distribution agreement with YouTube TV. The release also covered Peacock, YouTube Premium, advertising technology, international streaming and sports production. It does not publish a contract end date, wholesale fees or a guarantee about customer pricing. Read NBCUniversal’s July 27, 2026 announcement.
Accordingly, the 2026 news is best understood as a continuation and extension of an existing relationship, not a wholly new NBC channel launch.

Which NBCUniversal channels are covered?
The 2025 release specifically named these networks as part of the agreement:

NBCUniversal characterized the deal as covering its full portfolio, while the list above is the set of networks explicitly identified in the release. It should not be treated as a universal channel grid for every household. YouTube TV says network availability can vary by home area and directs customers to check with their ZIP code. Check YouTube TV’s availability guidance.
Is Peacock included with YouTube TV?
No—not according to the public announcements. YouTube TV is the live-television service that carries NBCUniversal networks. Peacock is a separate streaming service, while YouTube Primetime Channels is a way to subscribe to certain services as add-ons inside YouTube.

- The 2025 agreement said Peacock would be offered as a subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels.
- The 2026 partnership said Peacock Premium would be available as a separate Primetime Channels add-on later in summer 2026.
- The same 2026 release announced a Peacock Premium bundle with YouTube Premium beginning in early 2027.
That planned bundle is not the same as a YouTube TV subscription. A show or event exclusive to Peacock therefore may require a separate Peacock subscription even when its network is carried on YouTube TV.
What sports viewers should know
NBCSN was a 2025 announcement
The October 2025 release said a new NBC Sports Network, identified as NBCSN, was planned for YouTube TV later that fall. Because the available announcements do not independently establish its current lineup or status, that statement should be treated as an announced component of the 2025 deal rather than proof of present-day availability.
Different platforms carry different rights
The July 2026 partnership mentions sports carried through Peacock and select live events on NBC Sports’ YouTube channel. Those arrangements do not automatically create additional YouTube TV channels. Sports rights can differ by event, season, market and platform, so viewers should verify the specific event in the current YouTube TV and Peacock listings.

What changes for a YouTube TV subscriber?
- Lower blackout risk: The multi-year arrangement reduces the immediate risk that NBCUniversal networks will disappear during a carriage dispute.
- Continued network access: NBC, Telemundo, Bravo, CNBC, Golf Channel, E!, Oxygen True Crime, MSNBC, USA, Syfy and Universo were named in the 2025 release, subject to local availability and the subscriber’s plan.
- No announced price lock: Neither release guarantees that YouTube TV’s monthly bill will stay unchanged. Carriage terms and consumer pricing are separate decisions.
- No automatic Peacock access: Peacock remains a separate subscription or bundle component.
Local NBC and Telemundo affiliates, add-on networks and regional sports availability can vary by ZIP code. Check the home-area lookup and the membership page for the plan and charges attached to a specific account.
What the agreement does not establish
- An expiration date for the multi-year agreement
- The wholesale fees paid by YouTube TV
- A customer credit or blackout remedy
- A reduction in YouTube TV pricing
- Universal access to every NBCUniversal program or local affiliate
- Free Peacock Premium with a standard YouTube TV membership
These omissions matter because network carriage, local broadcast rights, on-demand libraries and Peacock exclusives are separate parts of the viewing experience.

Who benefits from the partnership?
Subscribers
Households that rely on NBC, Bravo, MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Telemundo or other named networks gain more certainty that those channels will remain available through YouTube TV. The benefit is strongest for viewers whose local affiliates and desired sports rights are already available in their market.

NBCUniversal
NBCUniversal retains distribution to YouTube TV households while expanding routes to Peacock through Primetime Channels and the planned YouTube Premium bundle. The company also gains broader opportunities for advertising and digital distribution.
Google and YouTube
YouTube keeps a major programming supplier for its live-TV service and deepens its subscription and advertising relationship with NBCUniversal. The 2026 release references collaboration involving FreeWheel-related advertising technology, international streaming and sports production. These business benefits are reasonable inferences from the announced arrangements, not disclosed financial results.

Choose YouTube TV when you need live NBCUniversal networks, local broadcast television and a cloud-DVR-style live-TV service. Confirm the NBC or Telemundo affiliate at your home address before subscribing at tv.youtube.com/welcome.

Peacock fits when on-demand exclusives matter
Add Peacock when you want Peacock-only series, films or sports that are not part of a live network feed. NBCUniversal’s July 27, 2026 release listed Peacock Premium at $10.99 per month at that time; verify the current price and tier before purchasing at Peacock’s official site.
YouTube Premium is a separate decision
The announced early-2027 Peacock bundle applies to YouTube Premium, not automatically to YouTube TV. YouTube Premium’s current benefits and price should be checked at youtube.com/premium when the bundle becomes available.
Compare if your priorities differ
Viewers focused on lower cost, sports specialization or a larger on-demand catalog may also compare Sling TV (sling.com), Hulu + Live TV (hulu.com/live-tv), Fubo (fubo.tv) or DIRECTV (directv.com). Compare current recurring prices, fees, local channels, sports rights, simultaneous streams and add-ons rather than relying on the NBCUniversal agreement alone.
Bottom line for NBC viewers
The Google–NBCUniversal agreements keep NBCUniversal programming on YouTube TV for the foreseeable multi-year term and extend the relationship into a wider Peacock and YouTube partnership. They reduce the likelihood of an immediate NBCUniversal blackout, but they do not lock in YouTube TV pricing, guarantee every local channel or include Peacock at no extra cost.
