ESPN+ still exists as a content service, but new direct subscribers now access it through ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited. Select is the lower-cost option focused on ESPN+ programming; Unlimited adds ESPN’s broader network and service lineup. The prices below were checked on August 18, 2026, for U.S. customers and can change.
What happened to ESPN+?
ESPN+ content has been folded into the current ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited structure rather than being marketed as a separate top-level plan for new direct subscribers. Existing ESPN+ customers were moved to ESPN Select and retain access to ESPN+ content.
When signing up today, look for ESPN Select rather than searching only for a product labeled “ESPN+.” Some cable, satellite, live-TV, Disney+, and Hulu packages may provide ESPN access through their own billing and authentication systems.

Choose ESPN Select if…
- You want the closest current equivalent to the former standalone ESPN+ subscription.
- Your priorities are ESPN+ originals, college sports, selected hockey, soccer, golf, tennis, and combat-sports programming.
- You do not need ESPN’s traditional television networks.
Choose ESPN Unlimited if…
- You want ESPN+ plus ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN on ABC, SEC Network+, ACCNX, and NFL Network.
- You regularly watch flagship ESPN network programming as well as ESPN+ events.
Unlimited provides substantially broader ESPN access, but it is not automatically a replacement for every cable channel, regional sports network, local station, or non-ESPN service.
How much do ESPN Select and Unlimited cost?
These are ESPN’s listed U.S. direct prices checked on August 18, 2026. Taxes, promotions, renewal terms, and third-party billing conditions can change. Confirm the price at checkout using ESPN’s official plan and pricing page.

Annual plans reduce the nominal monthly equivalent but require a larger upfront payment and a longer commitment. Monthly billing is usually safer for seasonal viewers or anyone still deciding. Changing plans can remove a promotion or price hold, and an annual subscription may not be immediately switchable back to monthly after charging.
ESPN’s main page also advertises a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle from $35.99 per month. The exact tier, advertising level, promotion, and renewal price must be verified at checkout.

Unlimited adds the broader ESPN services and networks, with programming marketed across sports including the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, tennis, golf majors, WWE, and SEC and ACC football and basketball.
Neither plan guarantees every event in a sport or league. Rights vary by competition, season, market, platform, and event. Local, regional, national, and league-specific blackouts may apply, so “includes NHL” or “includes college football” does not mean every game is available.

- Open the official ESPN subscription page at https://plus.espn.com/. ESPN also identifies this direct subscribe page.
- Select Get ESPN, View additional plan options, or the relevant Select or Unlimited offer.
- Choose Select or Unlimited, then monthly or annual billing if both are offered.
- Sign in with an existing ESPN/MyDisney account or create one.
- Enter an accepted payment method.
- Review the exact price, renewal date, promotional conditions, and included services.
- Complete the purchase.
- Open the ESPN app or ESPN.com and sign in with the same account.
- Start a program or live event to verify access.
ESPN lists Disney Visa, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal among accepted payment methods. Options can vary by region and purchase channel; see ESPN’s payment-method guidance.
How to use an existing TV or live-TV provider
Check your current package before buying a direct subscription. ESPN identifies access or activation routes involving Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV, Spectrum TV, DIRECTV, Verizon FiOS, U-verse, and Cox, although eligibility changes by package and provider.

- Open the ESPN app or ESPN.com.
- Sign in with an ESPN account or create one.
- Choose the provider-authentication option when prompted.
- Enter the TV provider’s username and password.
- Stream only the content covered by that provider package.
Provider credentials do not necessarily grant every ESPN+ or ESPN Unlimited feature. Provider billing, activation, and support remain separate from a direct ESPN subscription. ESPN’s authentication instructions are at this support page.
Supported devices and viewing options
ESPN lists support for Android phones, tablets, and TVs; Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets; Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad; Chromecast; Cox Contour 2 and Contour Stream Player; LG, Samsung, and Vizio smart TVs; PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; Roku; Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S; Xfinity Xumo TV, Flex, and X1; and Xumo TVs and Xumo Stream Box.
The ESPN landing page states that a subscription can stream on up to three devices simultaneously. That is a concurrent-stream limit, not necessarily a limit on registered devices. ESPN availability through Disney+ depends on the linked plan, account configuration, and content.
How to cancel
Direct ESPN billing
- Sign in to your ESPN account using a computer or mobile browser.
- Open the profile menu.
- Choose Subscriptions under Manage my.
- Select Manage Subscription.
- Follow the cancellation instructions.
Cancellation generally stops the next renewal while access continues through the current billing period. ESPN says it does not refund or credit a partially used period. Canceling the subscription does not delete your ESPN account.
Apple, Google, Disney+, Hulu, or provider billing
Cancel through the company that processes the payment. A subscription managed by Apple, Google, Disney+, Hulu, or another partner may not be cancellable from ESPN.com. The account-management details are in ESPN’s subscription guide.

- Open your profile picture.
- Select Subscriptions under Manage my.
- Select Manage Subscription.
- Choose Annual in the subscription section.
- Review the billing details.
- Select Agree & Subscribe.
Moving from Select to Unlimited takes effect immediately and may involve prorated billing. Moving to Select generally takes effect on the next billing date. A plan change can remove promotional pricing or a price hold.

The subscription is missing
- Check that you are using the email attached to the purchase, not a different ESPN or MyDisney account.
- Check who billed you before trying to subscribe again; a provider or bundle may already include access.
- Do not assume a TV-provider login creates a separate direct ESPN subscription.
Provider authentication fails
Verify that your package includes the requested entitlement and that the provider credentials work on the provider’s own site. Provider support may be required if the package or account is not activated.
The screen is blank or keeps spinning
Refresh or restart the app or browser, close other applications, switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi where possible, and temporarily disable content filters, antivirus tools, proxy accelerators, or pop-up blockers that interfere with playback. ESPN’s troubleshooting steps are at this support article.
A game is unavailable
Check the event’s rights, blackout, regional, and platform restrictions before treating the problem as a login failure. A valid subscription does not override those restrictions.

You are being billed twice
Review direct ESPN, Apple, Google, Disney+, Hulu, and provider statements separately. Cancel the unwanted subscription with its actual billing party; canceling one route does not necessarily cancel another.

For sports-only viewers, a bundle can cost more than necessary. Conversely, Unlimited may be better value than Select when you regularly watch ESPN’s television networks. Make the decision from the specific events and channels you watch, not the plan name alone.
