No. The Wheel of Time will not return for Season 4 on Prime Video. Prime Video canceled the live-action adaptation after three seasons on May 23, 2025, roughly five weeks after the Season 3 finale. No other service has announced a pickup, and there is no Season 4 release date or production plan.
Why was The Wheel of Time canceled?
Trade reports from TVLine and Variety attributed the decision to the show’s high production costs combined with declining or insufficient viewership. Those reports did not publish an authoritative audience total or a specific cancellation threshold, so there is no verified number showing exactly how many viewers Prime Video required.
The series was produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios as an adaptation of Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels. Cancellation followed internal deliberation after the third season rather than a publicly announced, completed ending for the television story.

Is another streaming service saving the show?
There is no verified live-action pickup. As reported by RadioTimes in August 2026, Prime Video executive Nicole Clemens said there was no direct replacement for the series in the pipeline while indicating that additional fantasy programming was coming. That statement does not represent a renewal or a transfer of The Wheel of Time to another platform.
Fan campaigns, actor interviews and earlier comments about possible story plans were made before the cancellation. They are not evidence of an active Season 4 production.

What would Season 4 have needed?
Because the show was canceled, no official Season 4 episode order, cast sheet, production schedule or release date exists. Any episode count, storyline, returning-character list or premiere window circulating without a new studio announcement is speculation.
What is happening with the wider franchise?
Separate projects are in development through iwot Studios, working with Arcane producer Thomas Vu. GamesRadar reported in March 2026 that the plans include animated series, feature films and a video game. These are distinct development efforts, not a continuation of Prime Video’s live-action seasons, and no release timetable was provided.

Thomas Vu described the opportunity as expanding The Wheel of Time into “fully authentic, integrated, interactive, and animated storytelling experiences.” That ambition does not confirm a connection to the canceled adaptation’s cast, continuity or plot.

The television series is based on Robert Jordan’s completed The Wheel of Time novel sequence. The books provide a complete reading path beyond the events adapted on television, although the novels and the show make different adaptation choices. Readers should verify the edition, territory and stock status when buying a boxed set or individual volumes, since retailer listings can change.
