The $10 offer was not a universal refund. During the 2025 Disney–YouTube TV carriage dispute, some subscribers were shown a targeted promotion worth $10 off each month for up to six months—a potential $60 reduction. It was separate from YouTube TV’s broadly announced, one-time $20 blackout credit. Disney programming returned on November 14, 2025, so an old promotion should be treated as historical unless a current offer is visibly displayed in your official account.
The short answer
- If your YouTube TV billing account displays a current “$10 off” or “six months” promotion, read its terms and accept it through the official account page.
- If no offer appears, you may not have been targeted, your billing arrangement may not qualify, or the promotion may have expired.
- The $10 promotion was different from the one-time $20 Disney blackout credit.
- The separate Disney antitrust settlement was a legal claim, not either YouTube TV credit. Its listed August 30, 2026 claim deadline has passed.
What the $10 offer actually was
Reporting described a retention promotion that reduced a subscriber’s YouTube TV bill by $10 per month for as many as six months. If all six credits applied, the maximum reduction was $60. It was better described as a promotional bill credit than as a universal blackout refund.
The offer was account-specific. Reports indicated that it was shown mainly to some people who had canceled or paused YouTube TV, rather than to every subscriber who lost Disney channels. Your account’s written terms control the start date, duration, eligibility and price after the promotion.
Check what happens after the discount
Before accepting, confirm whether the offer restarts a paused membership, prevents cancellation, changes your next billing date, requires uninterrupted service, or ends automatically after six months. Compare the discounted price with the regular price that resumes afterward. An existing promotion can also affect what you see.

How to check for the offer
- Open tv.youtube.com in a browser and sign in to the Google account that controls YouTube TV billing.
- Open Settings or Membership, then review any promotion, retention message, account notice or reduced-price banner.
- Look for language such as “$10 off,” “six months,” “credit” or “special offer.”
- Open the terms and verify the monthly price, number of discounted months and date the normal price returns.
- Accept only through the official YouTube TV interface, then save the confirmation email or take a screenshot.
Menu labels can vary by device and account state. A desktop browser may show an offer that is not visible in a television app. Support can explain an existing promotion, but contacting support does not guarantee eligibility or create a targeted offer.
Why another subscriber may see a different amount
| Benefit | Amount | Structure | Eligibility and status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Targeted retention promotion | $10 per month, up to six months | Monthly bill reductions; potential maximum of $60 | Selected, account-specific subscribers; historical unless a current account offer says otherwise |
| Disney blackout credit | $20 once | One-time YouTube TV account credit | Eligible affected subscribers who claimed it; published redemption deadline was December 9, 2025 |
| Disney antitrust settlement | Variable pro rata amount | Separate legal-settlement payment | Eligible YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream subscribers during the qualifying period; claim deadline was August 30, 2026 |
These benefits cannot be added together into an automatic $70 payment. The $10 promotion and $20 credit had different rules, and the settlement required its own claim.

What happened to the Disney channels?
Disney programming disappeared from YouTube TV after the companies’ agreement expired on October 30, 2025. Affected services included ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, FX, Freeform, National Geographic, SEC Network and ACC Network, among others. YouTube’s account of the dispute is available at blog.youtube/inside-youtube/disney-youtube-tv/.
YouTube TV and Disney announced a new agreement on November 14, 2025, restoring the programming. Any article or social post saying those channels are still unavailable is describing the blackout period, not the current service.

The separate one-time $20 credit
YouTube TV’s published instructions described a one-time $20 credit for eligible subscribers affected by the outage. For subscribers billed directly, the reported route was tv.youtube.com → Settings → Updates → Claim credit. YouTube TV said the credit had to be redeemed by December 9, 2025; that deadline has passed.
The $20 was an account credit intended to reduce a YouTube TV bill, not necessarily cash paid to a bank account. App-store billing, bundled plans and other third-party billing arrangements could expose different controls.

If the offer is missing
- Confirm that you are using the Google account attached to the paid membership, not merely a family member’s profile.
- Check the account’s Membership, Billing and Updates areas in a desktop browser.
- Search email, spam and promotions folders for YouTube TV or Google messages.
- Review whether you previously canceled or paused service, since reports linked the $10 promotion to churn-prevention targeting.
- Compare any existing discount with the proposed price and end dates.
- If you have an eligibility email or screenshot, contact official YouTube TV support for clarification.
If the promotion no longer appears, there may be no retroactive way to claim it. Do not use an old generic claim link or assume that another subscriber’s offer applies to your account.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The Disney settlement was a different process
The separate $50 million Disney settlement concerned alleged conduct in the live-TV streaming market. Settlement materials described a qualifying subscription period from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026, for eligible YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers. Payments were to be distributed pro rata, based in part on qualifying subscription time, rather than as a guaranteed amount for every claimant.

The official settlement website listed August 30, 2026, for claims, objections and exclusions, with a final approval hearing scheduled for October 15, 2026. Because the claim deadline has passed, check the official notices for any court-approved extensions or later instructions:
Filing a settlement claim was not the same as accepting a YouTube TV promotion, and settlement payment depended on court approval and resolution of appeals.
How to avoid credit and settlement scams
- Use tv.youtube.com for account promotions and billing.
- Use the official settlement domains above, not a third-party “claim service.”
- Do not pay a fee to receive a credit or settlement payment.
- Do not enter Google credentials or card details on an unfamiliar domain reached through an unsolicited message.
- Verify settlement contact information against the official site’s published notice.
The Bottom Line
The $10 offer was a targeted, temporary YouTube TV promotion—not a universal Disney-blackout refund. The one-time $20 credit was separate, and the Disney settlement required its own claim. Disney channels returned on November 14, 2025; rely only on a current offer shown inside your official account.
