The current About page still links separately to The Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions. That makes the distinction important: Sussex.com is the umbrella office site, not a legal replacement for the foundation or the production company.
Why remove “Royal” but keep the Sussex titles?
The most visible branding decision was the move from SussexRoyal to Sussex.com. The word “Royal” disappeared from the domain and primary identity, while the site continued to identify Harry and Meghan as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The change can reasonably be read as a branding repositioning after the couple stepped back from official royal duties in 2020. “Sussex” preserves the title-based identity that audiences associate with them, while “Royal” is less prominent in the name of the operation.
