How viewers watched it live in 2024
The original game was a local FOX broadcast, not a universally available national stream. In the Twin Cities, the local station was KMSP FOX 9. Whether a viewer received the game depended on the NFL and FOX coverage map for that market.
#1 Best Overall
In the FOX coverage area
Viewers in a designated local market could watch through a local FOX affiliate using an antenna, cable or satellite package, or a streaming TV service that carried the local FOX station in that location. A streaming subscription did not by itself guarantee that the local affiliate or this game was available.
Outside the local coverage area
For U.S. viewers outside the game’s local FOX coverage area, NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube or YouTube TV was the relevant 2024 category for an out-of-market Sunday-afternoon CBS or FOX game. It was not an all-games pass: local and nationally broadcast games remained subject to the applicable local and national rights rules.
Mobile viewing and replays
In the 2024 season, NFL+ was the official option for live local and primetime regular-season games on a phone or tablet. NFL+ also included live game audio. NFL+ Premium was listed as the tier with full-game and condensed replays.

Those were the original viewing rules, not a promise of present access. In particular, that mobile/tablet live-game arrangement should not be read as unrestricted live regular-season viewing on every TV or streaming device.

Can you watch Lions vs. Vikings Week 7 now?
Possibly, but confirm it before subscribing. The NFL’s historical recap has pointed viewers to NFL+ Premium for replay access, yet a past listing does not establish that the full game is still available in 2026. Catalogues, plan features, device support, blackouts, and territorial rights can change.
- Check the official NFL or NFL+ replay listing and search for the October 20, 2024 Lions-Vikings game.
- Confirm that the specific replay type you want—full game, condensed game, or highlights—is included with the plan currently offered.
- If using YouTube TV or Sunday Ticket to understand the original out-of-market route, check its current eligibility and location-specific terms. Do not assume Sunday Ticket includes local games or archived replays.
- Review the service’s supported-device list before paying, especially if you plan to watch on a television.
Use official listings and the service’s current terms at the time you subscribe. Do not rely on old 2024 prices or benefits, and do not use a VPN or any other workaround to try to bypass broadcast restrictions.

Archived audio option
SiriusXM also carried legal live audio for the 2024 game. Its listing identified the Vikings home feed on satellite channel 229 and the Lions away feed on channel 381, with app listening available under the applicable subscription. As with video rights, current channel assignments and on-demand availability should be checked directly with SiriusXM.
Watching on a TV: where a Roku Streaming Stick 4K fits
A Roku Streaming Stick 4K can be useful if you already have a compatible streaming subscription and want to use it on an HDMI-equipped television. Roku identifies the Streaming Stick 4K as model 3820R2, with HD and 4K support, and Roku Streaming Stick devices are compatible with YouTube TV.
It is only the playback device. It does not include YouTube TV, Sunday Ticket, NFL+, a local FOX station, or rights to this Lions-Vikings game. Install the provider’s app, sign in with an eligible account, and verify that the programme or replay appears in that account for your location.
What to search for instead of a live stream
Because this game is final, search for Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings October 20 2024 full game, condensed game, or highlights within an official NFL service. For a current or future Lions-Vikings fixture, start with the official schedule and the broadcaster assigned to that specific date; the 2024 FOX assignment does not predict a future game’s network or streaming availability.
