It is not evidence of an unspecified new change in Christine and David’s marriage.
Sister Wives has a clearer, more grounded development than claims that David Woolley “broke his silence” over a new Christine Brown Woolley relationship update: David joined Christine for Kody Brown’s Season 20 apology storyline and urged Kody to put his children’s healing first. The exchange became tense after David raised the subject of Kody’s kids.
That is separate from speculation about Christine and David’s marriage. Christine and David married on October 7, 2023, in Moab, Utah, and the latest direct relationship-status response in the available reporting came in February 2025, when Christine said they were happy together. There is no identified public statement establishing a later engagement, separation, pregnancy, move, or other defined “major relationship update.”
What happened in the Season 20 apology meeting
The storyline follows Kody’s second apology meeting with Christine. TLC’s Season 20 episode descriptions place that meeting in Episode 12, then say the conversation grows tense in Episode 13 when David brings up Kody’s children.

An episode recap published in December 2025 reported that David told Kody he should focus on the children he shares with Christine and on their healing. David’s perspective was shaped by seeing the children hurt, according to that recap. Kody did not accept David’s intervention.
That makes the moment notable, but it should be described accurately: it was a disagreement in a filmed family conversation, not proof that David and Kody have an unchangeably hostile relationship. Christine had previously said the two men had met several times and could be civil. Civility and a difficult exchange about the children can both be true.

Christine and David’s relationship is not a new romance
Christine’s plural marriage to Kody ended in 2021. She later married David in 2023, so framing the current storyline as though Christine were newly exploring a relationship is misleading.
| Date | What is established | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Christine and Kody’s split became public. | This is the background to the apology storyline. |
| October 7, 2023 | Christine and David married in Moab, Utah. | David is Christine’s husband, not her brother-in-law or a new dating prospect. |
| February 12, 2025 | Christine responded to breakup rumors by saying she and David were happy together. | This is the latest direct relationship-status evidence in the available reporting. |
| December 21, 2025 | An episode recap reported David’s advice to Kody about the children. | This is the substantive on-screen news peg. |
| January 16, 2026 | A separate preview reported David discussing Kody’s claim that he had loved Christine. | This is a later one-on-one development, not evidence for an earlier vague relationship claim. |
Why the distinction matters
Reality-TV headlines often collapse several separate events into one dramatic claim. Here, the verified story is about a Season 20 conversation: David challenged Kody to center his children’s well-being during an apology involving Christine.

It is not supported by the available reporting to say that David issued a broad public “silence-breaking” statement, nor to imply that Christine announced an unspecified new relationship milestone. Calling Kody a “villain” is also commentary, not a fact that belongs in a straightforward account of the episode.
What viewers can take from the exchange
The scene shifts attention away from the former couple’s past conflict and toward the lasting consequences for their family. David’s role is not simply that of a bystander: as Christine’s husband, he voiced concern over the children’s emotional experience. Kody’s pushback is part of the tension TLC flagged in its episode description.

Readers looking for context on the Brown family’s earlier plural-marriage years can consult Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage, the trade paperback credited to Christine, Kody, Meri, Janelle, and Robyn Brown (ISBN-13: 9781451661309). It predates David Woolley and does not document the current Season 20 exchange, but it may help explain the family history behind it.
