The human face is a part of the BBC 4 series examining the science behind facial beauty, expression and fame in an entertaining way. John Cleese, actor, comedian, visiting professor, and author of best seller on psychology, she embarks on an odyssey to discover the mysteries of identity, perception, creativity and sexuality hidden behind the mask of life itself. This four-part series combines art, technology and deeply moving human interest stories to discover the secrets of the human face.

Here’s Looking at. The series opens with an epic journey to discover the secrets of the human face. In a world of six billion other faces, your face is unique. That reveals their personality, genetic and cultural identity, and can be read like a book. Family resemblances, facial recognition and purpose of the face and its features are part of a story that begins in the oceans 500 million years ago.

The fame and infamy. Famous Faces are everywhere. They keep us from billboards, magazines and movie screens, emitting faces messages.These sell sex, politics, the glamor and power. Diana, Jackie O, Marilyn Monroe, their faces are sometimes more familiar to us than our nearest and dearest.

The survival of the prettiest. What is beauty? Is it just a matter of personal taste? Apparently not, reveals that the same things that appeal to enthusiasts worldwide. A pretty face is a face suggests fertile and ugliness of ill health. Big eyes, smooth skin and symmetrical features that will win fans everywhere.

Secrets and lies. Each face contains a million secrets. And we like it or not, the face reveals our feelings and what is really going on in the background. Secrets and lies about how you communicate your face without saying a word, these expressions, the costume and the mysterious art of face reading.
