Coming from humble beginnings, Cayce was able to astound people all over the world with his supernatural ability of leaving his body while under hypnosis and journeying into the afterlife realms. After his first trance in 1910, he quickly gained national fame when the New York Times ran a two-page article about him titled “The World’s Most Mysterious Man”.
Not only did Cayce become well known but also highly sought after due to his ability to accurately diagnose and prescribe treatments for gravely ill people often hundreds of miles away through his out-of-body journeys. In fact, President Woodrow Wilson himself sought out Edgar Cayce for healing and guidance while he was president as well as when he was attempting to conceive the League of Nations.
