McGregor comes into this bout with much momentum as he seeks to prove his status as one of MMA’s premier fighters. He earned his interim featherweight championship back in July at UFC 189 against Chad Mendes and he has been nothing short of impressive ever since then – defeating both Dennis Siver and Dustin Poirier with commanding performances along the way. With McGregor’s brash attitude and confident style, it makes for not only a great fight but also great entertainment value.

Aldo on the other hand is no slouch either; despite having been forced out of their original matchup due to injury earlier this year he remains undefeated in MMA competition since 2005. Not only that but Aldo also holds submission victories over Urijah Faber and Kenny Florian – two big names in their respective divisions – making him an even more formidable opponent come Saturday night.
